Southern Fulton 44
Southern Fulton was handed a tough loss last Wednesday dropping a nonleague match to James Buchanan, who in turn earned a spot in District 3 playoffs. During the 52-44 loss, which brought an end to a nine-game winning streak, the Indians were led by Dylan Gordon, who posted 26 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

Fannett-Metal 40
Shawn Garlock hit double digits for the McConnellsburg Spartans last Thursday during a 62-40 ousting of the Fannett-Metal Tigers. Garlock recorded a career-high 13 points and also pulled down six rebounds, while Chase Novak added 18 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Landon Richards and Jake Boehme had 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Tussey Mountain 43
McConnellsburg picked up a big win over Tussey Mountain Friday evening and earned the top seed in District 5-A playoffs that get under way Thursday. During their 55-43 Sideling Hill League win, the Indians were led by Ian Cheatle, who recorded 23 points and seven rebounds. Landon Richards hit double digits with 11 points, and Jake Boehme had 10 points.

Southern Fulton 45
Southern Fulton fell to Bellwood-Antis in the Inter- County Conference championship round Saturday dropping the match by the final score of 60-45. Trent Rider posted 16 points to pave the way for the Indians, who received 14 points, seven rebounds, two steals and three blocked shots from teammate Dylan Gordon. The Indians are scheduled to play Conemaugh Township in the opening round of District 5- A playoffs Thursday.

Southern Huntingdon 24
Southern Fulton dominated the Southern Huntingdon Rockets last Tuesday, trouncing their conference opponents 73-24. Trent Rider led the Indians’ offensive effort with 23 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Dylan Gordon had another strong night with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Branden Lynch led the defense with eight rebounds and also added six points. Zach Clark posted nine points and three assists.

Everett and Forbes Road managed to tie the game in three periods last Tuesday, but the second quarter gave Everett the advantage and the 52-45 league victory. Matt Brown had eight points and 11 rebounds, and Grayson Hall paced the offense with 12 points.

Inching their way closer to District 5-A playoff action, the Forbes Road Lady Cardinals slipped by Tussey Mountain last Wednesday winning the league match by a margin of five points. McKenzie Gelvin racked up 14 points and seven steals, and Mina Wilt added 12 points and five rebounds.

Chestnut Ridge 24
McConnellsburg finished its regular season play last Thursday with an overall 15- 7 record and a 58-24 trouncing of Chestnut Ridge. Bronwyne Mellott tallied 25 points and eight rebounds for the victorious Spartans, and Bridgette Ritchey added nine points, 12 rebounds and six steals. Justice Seville posted 11 points.

Forbes Road pulled off a huge victory over Johnstown Christian Friday winning the non-league game in overtime by a margin of 62- 59. McKenzie Gelvin led her Cardinal teammates with 27 points and five steals, and Mina Wilt tallied 13 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double. Malea Truax tacked on 13 points, and Courtney Schoen pulled down 13 rebounds.

Northern Bedford 42
Southern Fulton picked up yet another league win Friday when the Indians rolled onto a 53-42 win over the Northern Bedford Panthers. Oliva Mottern’s double double consisted of 21 points and 11 rebounds. Celina Merchant followed with 13 points and eight rebounds, and Shaye Smartt had 13 points and six assists. Drew Gordon rounded out the game with eight rebounds.

McConnellsburg’s Bronwyne Mellott scored nearly two-thirds of the Lady Spartans’ points last Monday evening during a 64-44 league ousting of Tussey Mountain. Mellott rallied for 41 points and added three steals. Teammate Bridgette Ritchey had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds as well as three steals.

With only two games remaining in regular season play, Southern Fulton took on and easily defeated the Southern Huntingdon Rockets last Monday by the final score of 46-32. Olivia Mottern’s double-double paced the Lady Indians. Mottern had 18 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, and Lakyn Morton tacked on 10 points. Drew Gordon finished out the conference game with six points and 10 rebounds.

Hoping to earn a berth in district playoffs, the Forbes Road Cardinals were outmatched and fell to the Everett Warriors last Monday 53-20. Mina Wilt, McKenzie Gelvin and Courtney Schoen each netted six points during the league loss.
