Ring Found

A ring found on Meadow Grounds Road approximately 10 years ago has been turned into Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg. Anyone with information pertinent to the ownership of the ring is asked to call state police Trooper Dountas at 717-485-3131.

Accused Of DUI

Fifty-nine-year-old James Henry Johnston of McConnellsburg has been accused of driving under the influence following an incident on Friday, February 12, along Lions Park Drive just south of East North Street. According to state police, Johnston was incapable of operating his vehicle safely in Todd Township at 8:40 p.m.

Harassment Charges Filed

Charges of harassment have been field against a Hustontown man through the office of Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott, state police reported. Thirty nine-year-old Kevin Eugene Schaeffer is accused of shoving a 37-year-old Chambersburg woman in the head, causing it to strike a window on Friday, February 12, at 9:40 p.m. during an argument. The incident occurred at a parking lot located at 23179 Great Cove Road in Todd Township.

Death Investigated

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg and the Fulton County Coroner’s Office investigated a death at 376 North Foster Road, Needmore, on Tuesday, February 9. Twenty-seven-year-old Randi Lee Mills was pronounced dead at the Belfast Township home by the coroner’s office at 7 p.m. Deputy Coroner Brian Barton reported cause of death has been linked to cardiac arrest due to multiple drug toxicity.

Identity Stolen

The personal information of a 51-year-old Hustontown man was used to fraudulently file two 1099 income tax forms, state police in Mc- Connellsburg reported. The incidents are believed to have occurred between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on February 2. The IRS has been notified of the identity theft, police added.

Peterbilt Rolls Onto Side

A westbound 2000 Peterbilt 379 rolled onto its passenger side along Interstate 70 on Saturday, February 6, according to state police. The rollover occurred as the truck was negotiating a lefthand curve in the Bethel Township roadway at 5:11 p.m. The driver, 27-year-old Jose D. Cuellar of Weslaco, Texas, was not injured but has been charged with failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic.

Woman Flees Dollar General

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg are currently searching for a white female accused of stealing from the Dollar General Monday afternoon. Reports indicate the unknown woman was last seen fleeing the store heading westbound on Lincoln Way West in a black Ford F-250 at 4:42 p.m. Anyone having further information pertinent to this case of retail theft should call state police Trooper Strayer at 717-485-3131.

Assault On Infant Still Under Investigation

State police in McConnellsburg are continuing to investigate what they believe was an aggravated assault of a 5-month old male infant last week. Police said they received a report that the baby was being treated for injuries to his brain that were sustained between midnight on February 11 and 8 a.m. on February 12 at 7311 Pigeon Cove Road, Belfast Township. The baby suffered five blood spots on his brain with no external injuries observed. Suspects in the case are a 20- year-old Needmore woman and a 23-year-old male from Hagerstown, Md., police added.
