Utility Pole Broken

A utility pole was snapped in half during a single-vehicle accident on Lincoln Way West Saturday afternoon, Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg said.

Reports indicate a 17- year-old Harrisonville male failed to negotiate an uphill, left-hand curve in the Todd Township roadway. The teen’s westbound 2005 Toyota Tundra struck a utility pole with its driver’s side door at 1:03 p.m.

The teen escaped injury and was able to drive the truck from the scene just west of the intersection of Lincoln Highway. He will be cited for driving at unsafe speeds. PennDOT, West Penn Power and Mc- Connellsburg fire police assisted on the scene.

Vehicle Rolls Over

An 18-year-old Warfordsburg man escaped injury when his northbound vehicle rolled onto its side along Great Cove Road.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg reported last Wednesday Stephen M. Blankley was travelling too fast for the wet-roadway conditions and lost control of his 1988 Chevrolet S-10. The truck spun and struck an embankment on the western berm with its rear end before rolling onto its left side.

The vehicle was removed from the accident scene, located south of Lakewood Lane at 3:18 p.m. by Bard’s Auto. Blankley was cited by state police for driving at unsafe speeds. State police were assisted by the Needmore Volunteer Fire Co.

Fort Littleton Man Accused Of Corruption

Thirty-three-year-old Brandon Baughman of Fort Littleton faces drug-related and corruption of minor charges following an incident that occurred last Thursday at 1271 Sheepskin Hollow Road.

According to state police reports, Baughman allegedly possessed and used synthetic marijuana. He reportedly left the drugs unattended at approximately 1 a.m., at which time a juvenile came into possession of the synthetic marijuana and used it. Both Baughman and the minor reportedly suffered medical issues and were taken to Fulton County Medical Center by EMS.

Tools Stolen

Two table saws and a Toro leaf blower were stolen from a storage shed located at 3932 North Clear Ridge Road, Dublin Township, between 12:01 a.m. on February 1 and midnight on September 3. Victim is a 52-year-old female from Barrington, N.J. Anyone having further information pertinent to this burglary should immediately contact state police Trooper Lech at 717-485-3131.

Women Accused Of Theft

Fifty-eight-year-old Judy Ann Seville and Medina Lynn Souders, 53, both of McConnellsburg, have been charged with retail theft in Franklin County. Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg alleged Seville and Souders left the Walmart store at 1730 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, on August 1 without paying full retail value of items at 2:40 p.m.

Money Stolen

Money was stolen from a Coca-Cola vending machine in front of Lincoln Way Market in McConnellsburg between 3 p.m. on September 4 and noon on September 8. Anyone having further information pertinent to this theft is asked to call state police Trooper Garner at 717-485- 3131.

Prison Escapees Returned To Jail

Two inmates at the Franklin County Jail who failed to return from work release detail last Wednesday afternoon have been returned to the custody of jail officials, Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg reported.

Twenty-one-year-old Ryan O’Neil Jefferson of Mc- Connellsburg and 22-yearold Waynesboro resident Brandon Lee Rutherford were taken into custody overnight Wednesday. Rutherford is incarcerated on charges of corruption of minors, while Jefferson is currently in prison for simple assault and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Marijuana Found

A small amount of marijuana was found during a traffic stop along Lincoln Highway just east of the intersection of Great Cove Road, state police said. Possession charges as well as summary traffic offenses have been filed against 54- year-old Everett resident Michael Alan Means through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott in connection with the incident on July 19.

Burglary In Bethel Township

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg investigated a burglary at 1064 Bethel Church Road that reportedly occurred between noon on July 20 and 8:14 a.m. on September 8. Among the items stolen from a 50-yearold male victim from Warfordsburg was a Stihl chain saw and a Stihl leaf blower. The items have been valued at $639. Anyone with further information pertaining to this burglary is asked to call state police Trooper Dountas at 717-485-3131.

Theft Reported

A 40-year-old Big Cove Tannery man reported to state police he was the victim of theft between 1:45 a.m. on July 14 and midnight on July 18. Among the items reported missing are two plastic containers holding approximately $400 in coins, two tents, two sleeping bags and an envelope containing around $800 in cash. Anyone having additional information regarding this incident should call state police Trooper Strait at 717-485-3131.
