Car, Truck, Bike Show The 2015 Phat Boys car, truck and bike show will be held Saturday, September 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Burnt Cabins Civic Assoc. ballfield. Registration fee is $10 and will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. First-, secondand third-place trophies for all classes and Best of Show trophy will be awarded. Proceeds benefit Charles “Tater” Black. Concession stand, raffle baskets, 50/50, vendors and bake sale. Not responsible for accidents.

Fall Festival Hixon Bible Camp Inc. will hold a fall festival September 25 and 26 beginning at 8 a.m., at 3472 McKees Gap Road, Warfordsburg. Vendors, music, food and bake sale, making and selling of apple butter, tractor show and hayrides. All are welcome.

CROP Walk This year’s annual Fulton County CROP hunger walk will be held Sunday, October 4, at 2 p.m., at Cowans Gap State Park. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m., at Pavilion #1. Baby Contest Canal Apple Days baby contest will be held Sunday, September 20, at Widmeyer Park Lions Pavilion, Hancock, for newborn to age 3. Sign-up is noon until 1:15 p.m. Contest will be held at 1:30 p.m.

Night On The Town Join in for a night on the town Saturday, September 19, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at McConnellsburg UMS Faith and Life Center, 121 North Second Street, McConnellsburg. The night out includes a great meal of baked ziti, fresh green salad, roll, a tasty dessert and choice of beverages. Music by three acoustic guitarists and an awesome display of artwork by local artist Charlie Harr.

X Card Shoot Fulton County Pistol and Rifle Club will hold X card shoots every Friday at 7 p.m., through November 20. Meat prizes awarded. Kitchen will be open.

Back-To-School Carnival A back-to-school carnival, hosted by MES PTSO, will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015, on the playground behind McConnellsburg Elementary School from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Petting zoo, face painting and lots of fun games. Food stand available.

Cruise-In For A Cause A cruise-in will be held September 19, rain or shine, at Thomas All Things Automotive, 21518 Great Cove Road, McConnellsburg, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. A $10 donation is being accepted per registered vheicle. Proceeds benefit Sandy Swope and Lori Sipes Miller who are battling cancer. Food will be available for purchase by Sipes Smokehouse BBQ. A bake sale is being hosted by Kevin and Kim. Cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. The first 35 registered vehicles will receive a thank-you gift envelope. No alcoholic beverages. Not responsible for accidents. Open Stage Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will hold an open stage Saturday, September 26, at 6 p.m. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Free Library Program Glen Hanket will be talking about his adventures biking across the country while collecting roadside trash. Hanket has written and published ten books, including “Underwear by the Roadside.” He has appeared on radio and TV across the country, including “To Tell The Truth,” MSNBC and The Travel Channel. The program is Thursday, September 17, at 7 p.m., in the library’s community room.

Free Movie A free movie will be shown Friday, September 18, in the community room of Fulton County Library. Please call the library at 485-5327 to find out what’s playing.

Block Party/Parade McConnellsburg Vol. Fire Co. will hold a block party and firemen’s parade Saturday, September 26. The event will get under way at the firehall on East Maple Street at 4 p.m., with food, music and games. At 7 p.m., the firemen’s parade will begin at the fairgrounds. Anyone wishing to join in on the fun by setting up a carnival-style booth or game during the block party or wanting to participate in the parade is asked to contact Lynch via email at petelynch@ pa.net or phone at 717-860-3733. Preregistration to participate in the parade lineup is required and must be done by September 22.

Art In The Park Create your own piece of the park to take home at Art In The Park at Cowans Gap State Park October 3, at 11 a.m. Meet at the Brightbill Interpretive Center. Join Nancy Mendes to create a landscape of the park. A donation of $25 is requested for participation in this events. Please contact the park office to register.

Meals Available Once a month volunteers pack up boxes of food to be given to anyone in need in the Waterfall area. Calling All Artists The annual Nancy Horton Heefner Memorial Art Show, sponsored by Mercersburg Historical Society, will be held in the Burgin Center on the campus of Mercersburg Academy Sunday, September 20 - Sunday, September

27. A reception will be held September 20 from 1-4 p.m. This show is held in memory of Mrs. Heefner, a Mercersburg artist and teacher of art, and is open to artists in Franklin and Fulton counties and Washington County.

Thrift Store Accepting Donations Paws For Hope Thrift Store is accepting donations during business hours. Taking household items, clothing, furniture and supplies for Bedford County Humane Society. Free Meal A free meal will be served the second Tuesday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North Third Street. Please join in for good fellowship.

Pancake Supper A pancake supper will be held September 19, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Faith Center. Cost is by donation.

Free Lunch The first Friday of every month a free and nutritious lunch is served in the Faith & Life Center at Mc- Connellsburg United Methodist Church on the courthouse square from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Autumn Tea The Historical Society Autumn Tea will be held Saturday, September 26, at the Fulton House beginning at 11:30 a.m.Tickets may be obtained from Monica Seville at the treasurer’s office and from Tickle Your Fancy on Lincoln Way. Reservations may be made by calling Edie Coleman at 814-35-3039. Please note that adult admission is now $10 and children remain at $4.50.

Spaghetti Dinner Buck Valley Christian Church will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner Saturday, September 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The church is located at 2281 Harmonia Road. Menu includes spaghetti, garlic bread, tossed salad, fruit cup, dessert and beverage. Price is $5 for adults; $3 children 5-12; and under 5 are free or $20 for a family. Proceeds benefit Hagerstown Rescue Mission.

Breakfast Buffet A breakfast buffet will be held Saturday, October 17, at Cito Fellowship Hall, 3746 Cito Road, Mc- Connellsburg, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, chipped beef gravy, toast, orange juice and coffee. No charge, donations accepted.

Breakfast Buffet A breakfast buffet will be held at Shade Gap Assembly of God Church, Saturday, September 19, at 7 a.m. The church is located one mile north of Sunny Ridge Restaurant on Piper Lane, old Route 522. Served will be sausage gravy and biscuits, sausage patties, egg casseroles, pancakes, home fries, coffee and juice. Donations benefit the mission trip to Guyana, South America.

Pasta Dinner Fulton County Community Christian School will hold a pasta dinner October 3, at the school at 8159 Great Cove Road, Needmore. Cost will be by donation and will benefit the girls volleyball tam. More information may be obtained by calling 717-573-4400.

Breakfast Buffet A breakfast buffet will be held Saturday, October 3, from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., at St. Paul’s UCC in Lemasters, 4822 Steele Avenue, Lemasters. Cost of the buffet with all the fixings is by donation to benefit church ministries.

Chicken BBQ Fulton County Democratic Committee will hold a chicken barbecue Saturday, September 19, at 11 a.m., at McConnellsburg firehall. Available by the half and/or dinner. There will also be a bake sale.

Alzheimer’s/Dementia Support Group Alzheimer’s/ dementia support group meets the third Tuesday monthly at 6 p.m. in Fulton County Medical Center, Pearl Room. More information may be obtained by calling 717-485-6108.

Yoga Classes Reaching Wellness yoga classes will be held for all ages Wednesdays at 5 p.m., at the Fulton County Medical Center. Call for cost and to register at 717-485-4492.

Alcoholics Anonymous Meeting Alcoholics Anonymous meeting is held every Monday morning at 11 a.m. (even holidays) in the Pearl Room, second floor of Fulton County Medical Center. This is an open meeting that anyone can attend.

Free Blood Pressure Screenings Free blood pressure screenings will be given at the following locations: Mc- Connellsburg Senior Center – the first Thursday of every month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Hann’s Apartments – the first Thursday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.; Warfordsburg Senior Center – the first Tuesday of every month from 11 a.m. to noon; and Hustontown Senior Center – the third Thursday of every month from 11 a.m. to noon and Mt. View Apartments – second Tuesday monthly 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Immunization Clinic The PA Department of Health is providing a public immunization clinic by appointment only and free blood pressure screenings the first Friday of every month, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at McConnellsburg Senior Center, 100 Woodside Drive, McConnellsburg. Nutrition Class Fulton County nutrition awareness classes are held at Warfordsburg Senior Center on the third Monday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon. To register or sign up for lunch call 717-294-6020.

Narcotics Anonymous Narcotics Anonymous will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday nights in Fulton County Medical Center in the Pearl Room. NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. Membership is open to all drug addicts, regardless of the particular drug or combination of drugs used (including alcohol). Anyone is welcome. Kuhn-Clevenger-Kendle Reunion The Kuhn-Clevenger- Kendle Reunion will be held Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Upton Community Center at 1 p.m. Bring place settings, utensils and drinks for your family and two dishes to share (a hot dish and a cold dish). Don’t forget to bring an item for the auction.

DeShong Reunion Harry N. and Arishia DeShong reunion will be held September 20 at Calvary Independent Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 140 McGoverns Lane, McConnellsburg. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Bring a covered dish.

Hustontown/Forbes Road Alumni Banquet Hustontown/ Forbes Road alumni banquet will be held Saturday, October 3, at Hustontown Firehall. RELIGION

Concert Bill and Karen Itzel and family will be in concert Sunday, September 27, at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Nazarene in the 10:30 a.m. services. Tonoloway Worship Services Friends of Tonoloway will hold fall worship services Sunday, October 4, at 2 p.m. Guest speaker will be Sam Stoey, recent pastor of Dublin Mills Community Church. His message is “Glad Day At Zach’s House.” He will also be bringing along his “musical saw.” Providing inspirational special music again this year will be Sharon Mennonite Singers of Sharon Mennonite Bible Institute. The church is located just north of Hancock, about one mile north of the Mason-Dixon Line on Rt. 655.

Gospel Music “Victory Express,” the Ron Cornell family gospel group from Mt. Joy, Pa., will be in concert at Sideling Hill Christian Church, Sunday, September 20, at 9:30 a.m. The church is located on Sipes Mill Road in Needmore. All are welcome.

Revival Dublin Mills Community Church, 2700 Dublin Mills Road, Hustontown, will hold fall revival meetings with Evangelist Bill Wollett September 20-25. Relay For Life Meeting American Cancer Society 2016 Fulton Relay For Life volunteers will meet Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 7 p.m., in the CR workroom, second floor of Fulton County Medical Center, 214 Peach Orchard Road, Mc- Connellsburg. Relay For Life is an incredible and inspiring community event that honors cancer survivors and unites community teams in the fight against cancer. Historical Society Meeting Fulton County Historical Society will hold its fall membership meeting Thursday, October 15, at 7 p.m., at Fulton County Courthouse. Guest speakers will be Charlie Harr and Roger “Bird” Souders, who will share their metal detecting adventures and display Fulton County artifacts they have found. This meeting is open to the community.

Sportsmen’s League Meeting Fulton County Sportsmen’s League will meet at 7 p.m. in the stone house at the trout nursery Friday, September 18.

PARSE Meeting PARSE Chapter 127 retired state employees will meet on the second Wednesday of each month at Mc- Connellsburg VFW at 10 a.m. Attendance is important to the chapter.

McCbg. Bingo McConnellsburg Fire Co. will hold bingo every Friday. Bingo starts at 7 p.m. and doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Benefit Cash Bingo A benefit cash bingo for Denise (Black) Barrick will be held September 27, at Hustontown Firehall at 2 p.m. Cost is $25 for 20 regular games and five specials. Doors and kitchen open at noon. Barrick is a 1974 graduate of Forbes Road High School. She has been fighting a long battle with cancer.
