DUI Charges To Be Filed

Charges of driving under the influence and summary traffic offenses are slated to be filed against 25-year-old Rock Hill Furnace resident Kevin Dallas Seibert, Pennsylvania State Police in Mc- Connellsburg said. Seibert was stopped by troopers after allegedly crossing the centerline of Lincoln Way East in McConnellsburg Borough several times on Friday, August 22, at 2: 30 a. m. Charges will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.

Urine Incident Leads To Charges

A McConnellsburg man faces charges after he tried to provide Fulton County probation officers with urine that was not his own during drug testing on Thursday, August 21, at 8: 30 a. m. Charges against 22-year-old Dillon Scott Clevenger will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott, state police reported.

Two Accused Of Harassment

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg investigated a domestic dispute at 173 Reservoir Road in Todd Township last Thursday morning.

According to reports, the dispute between 29-year-old Cody Michael Johnston of McConnellsburg and Tracey Renee Souders, 36, of Hagerstown, Md., allegedly turned physical. Both Johnston and Souders have been charged with harassment through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.

Three McConnellsburg Residents Uninjured

Three McConnellsburg residents were uninjured during a recent three-vehicle collision along Buchanan Trail in neighboring Franklin County.

Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg said Michael A. Nichols, 51, of Trinity, N.C., made a righthand turn on Friday, August 22, at the intersection of Antrim Church Road, causing his 2005 Freightliner trailer to strike a vehicle operated by Michael D. Jones, 21, McConnellsburg. Jones’ vehicle then hit a 2006 Dodge Ram driven by 34-year-old Greencastle resident Matthew G. Bigham at 4:24 p.m.

Jones’ Cruze suffered minor damage and was removed from the Antrim Township accident scene by Cunningham’s Towing. Both the Freightliner and Bigham’s truck sustained minor damage but were operable. All drivers were wearing seat belts and escaped injury, as did Jones’ passengers, Kimberly A. Jones, 21, and a 1- year- old boy, also of Mc- Connellsburg, state police noted.

Local Man Arraigned On Assault Charges

Twenty-seven-year-old Mc- Connellsburg resident Russell Duane Connelly Sr. was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Tamela Heming on charges of simple assault over the weekend. He was released on $50,000 unsecured bail, and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled in the case.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg were notified of the alleged assault by Chambersburg Hospital officials on Saturday, August 23, after Angela Rene Turner, 35, of McConnellsburg was transported there by EMS for treatment of head trauma.

Turner was reportedly involved in an argument with Connelly at Hillside Estates that turned physical at 6:25 p.m. Turner is accused of striking Connelly in the neck, state police said. Connelly allegedly grabbed Turner by the neck and slammed her against a vehicle, causing her to lose consciousness, police stated. Connelly was taken into custody at Chambersburg Hospital with assistance by Chambersburg state police.

Turner is charged with harassment through the office of Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.

Woman Arrested For Assault

A Hustontown woman was arrested and arraigned Saturday on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and harassment as a result of an incident at 884 Plum Hollow Road.

According to state police, Angela Maria Mellott, 23, was involved in an argument with a Harrisonville area man at 5:17 a.m. Mellott allegedly confronted and threatened the male with two large knives. The duo also struggled during the confrontation, said police, who added Mellott received minor cuts and scrapes during the incident. The victim was not injured.

Troopers Respond To Brush Creek Township Accident

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg responded to a single-vehicle accident Saturday along North Valley Road involving two St. Thomas residents.

Twenty-one-year-old Amanda L. Morningstar was travelling northbound through Brush Creek Township at 12:37 p.m. and failed to stay within her lane of travel, police said. Morningstar lost control of her 2002 GMC Yukon, which skidded into a western embankment and eventually overturned, state police added. Morningstar and her passenger, a 17-yearold male, were not wearing seat belts. They were transported to Fulton County Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries.

Morningstar will be cited by state police for failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic.

Driver Cited In I-70 Crash

A Eustis, Fla., woman faces charges of failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic in connection with an accident along the westbound lanes of Interstate 70. State police reported 78- year-old Leticia R. Aiken attempted to change lanes and lost control of her 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt, which travelled off the berm and into the median. The undercarriage of the car struck a ditch, but the car continued travelling south across the opposing eastbound lanes, police said.

Aiken was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Mailbox Damaged

Three individuals in a white Hyundai sedan reportedly threw a rock at and damaged a mailbox along Union Church Road in Ayr Township on Thursday, August 21. Victim is a 42-yearold McConnellsburg man. Anyone having further information pertinent to this 10:19 p.m. criminal mischief should contact state police Trooper Kirsch at 717-485- 3131.

Motorcycle Operator Flown From Scene

The driver of a 2010 Kawasaki ZX14 was flown from the scene of a motorcycle accident along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 last Monday. Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg said 37-year-old Snover Shannon Rameriz suffered major injuries during the accident near mile marker 166 in Bethel Township at 12:41 a.m. He was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment. Rameriz was injured, police stated, when he feel asleep, causing his motorcycle to travel off the roadway and strike a fence.

Window Damaged

A window at 802 East Poplar Street, McConnellsburg, was damaged between noon on August 18 and 8:49 p.m. on August 21. Victim is a 54-year-old McConnellsburg woman. Anyone with additional information concerning this case should immediately call state police Trooper Kirsch at 717-485- 3131.

Pittsburgh Woman Involved In Accident

A Pittsburgh woman escaped harm during a singlevehicle accident along Lincoln Highway on Friday, state police reported. Twenty three-year-old Julie Delorenzo lost control of her eastbound 2009 Hyundai Elantra while rounding a curve in the Brush Creek Township roadway at 11:44 a.m. The car went off the roadway east of the intersection of White Deer Drive, police said. She will be charged with driving at unsafe speeds.

Disorderly Conduct Charges Filed

Charges of disorderly conduct have been filed against 32-year-old McConnellsburg resident Levi Shimer for an incident on Third Street in McConnellsburg. State police alleged Shimer tampered with items in the back of a truck belonging to a 48-yearold McConnellsburg man on August 14 between 1:45 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. The victim was awakened from the noise outside and yelled at Shimer to leave, which he did, police said. Charges against Shimer have been filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.

Megan’s Law Violator Jailed

A Robertsdale man has been remanded to the Franklin County Jail on Tuesday in lieu of $200,000 secured bail for failing to register his change of address with Pennsylvania State Police.

According to reports, 30- year- old Homer Junior Wright failed to notify state police and Megan’s Law within three business days of his change of address.

Wright, who now resides at 981 Waterfall Road, Apartment 2, in Taylor Township, was charged and arrested on August 19 with failure to comply with registration of sexual offenders requirements. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Tamela
