Western Pennsylvania’s Mason Zeigler made the long tow to Hagerstown Speedway pay off by winning his first-ever Late Model feature at the Maryland half mile Saturday night.

Zeigler, just 21, who has traveled to six states to race so far this season, led all 25 laps in taking that big feature win over Jason Covert, C.S. Fitzgerald, 20th starter Jim Yoder and Kenny Moreland, with Brian Tavenner, Dylan Yoder, Steve Axtell Jr., Roy Deese Jr. and Jake Jones completing the top 10. Marvin Winters finished 12th.

Defending Late Model sportsman champion Justin Weaver returned to victory lane by winning the 20-lap feature for his division over Scott Palmer, last week’s winner Jonathan DeHaven Jr., Chad Myers and Kyle Lee.

Mike Corbin made it two straight in Pure Stock action over Wayne Hawbaker and Nike Dibella, while Kenny Thomas ( hobby stocks) and Ryan Laye (four cylinders) were also repeat winners.

Danny Dietrich powered to his first 25-lap 410 Sprint car feature win of the season Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway. Dietrich started third and took the lead on Lap 10 and never looked back in the win over Brent Marks, Greg Hodnett, Kyle Moody and Lance Dewease.

Niki Young won the opening night 358 Sprint car feature over Kevin Nouse, Duane Watson, Brie Hershey and Chase Dietz, while JR Rodriguez was the 358 Late Model winner over Gene Knaub, Cam Zeigler, Pat Beard and Tyler Horst.

Blane Heimbach scored his first career 410 Sprint car win at Selinsgrove Speedway in the track’s season opener on Sunday. Heimbach took the win over Chad Layton, Mike Erdley, Lucas Wolfe and Steve Buckwalter.

After taking the win in the Hagerstown opener a week ago, Rick Eckert scored the opening night win Saturday at Winchester Speedway.

Aboard the Paul Crowl owned Late Model, the York driver led all 35 laps for the $ 2,500 payday over JT Spence, Gregg Satterlee, Greg Robinson and Kenny Pettyjohn.
