Paul R. Golden Hancock, 84
Paul R. “Pete” Golden, 84, Hancock, died Tuesday March 4, 2014, at his home.
Born June 23, 1929, in Hancock, he was the son of the late John Russell and Verona Clark Golden
He was a member of Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion, a member of Hancock Assembly of God Church, and was retired from Maryland Department of Highways.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951-1953 in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Louise E. Weller Golden, who he married December 24, 1954, at Hancock Assembly of God; one son, Paul A. Golden, Hancock; one daughter, Barbara Hullinger, also of Hancock; one sister, Betty Knable of Needmore; two granddaughters: Karla Crosen and Candace Hixon; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Walter McKinley, James and John Golden; and two sisters: Ruth Unger and Catherine Clingerman.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Hancock Assembly of God Church, at 11 a.m. Rev. Don Preston officiated. Burial, with military honors by the Tri-State Honor Guard, were in Stone Bridge Brethren Cemetery, near Hancock.
