Historical Society Dinner April 3

Mark calendars for the Fulton County Historical Society’s annual dinner and meeting April 3, 2014, at 6 p.m., at McConnellsburg Firehall. The dinner and meeting will be followed by entertainment by Kirk Davis. The cost is $12 per person.

Davis, dressed in Civil War uniform, will give a presentation on the upcoming Fulton County Heritage Days Civil War Living History and Re-enactment celebrating the 150th anniversary of the last Confederate bivouac north of the Mason-Dixon Line. He is the founder and vice president of operations for the American Living History Education Society, which teaches America’s History through first-person impressions, living histories and battle re-enactments. He was the living history co-ordinator for the 150th Battle of Gettysburg anniversary event in 2013. He is also the CEO of the Home Front General Store, a store that sells historically correct ladies, children and mens clothing and accessories from the 1750s to 1950s. His presentation is appropriate for the whole family.
