A Crystal Spring man was sent to the Franklin County Jail over the weekend after allegations emerged he raped an 8-year-old girl he and his girlfriend helped babysit.

Forty-one-year-old Timothy Leroy Flournoy of 218 LF Tire Drive located off Old 126 was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne on Saturday, February 22, and remanded to the jail in lieu of $300,000 bail. Charges against Flournoy include one count each of rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and indecent assault.

The accusations against Flournoy were brought to light last Thursday when the victim was treated at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital for an alleged sexual assault.

Police said the girl participated in a forensic interview where she described the incident and was able to demonstrate the act using anatomically correct dolls.

Flournoy admitted to being at the girl’s Brush Creek Township home on February 19, the investigating officer said. He allegedly told state police he watches the victim as well as her brother while their parents are at work and until his girlfriend wakes up and comes to the residence.
