Birthday wishes to Donald Divens, a resident in Fulton County Medical Center long-term- care unit, who was 84 on February 21; John Foor and Clay Rasp, February 28; Josh Horton, March 5; Jackie Hahn, March 5; Ed Truax and Alijah Horton, March 6; Arlene Umbrell, March 5; Patti Mills, March 7; Caitlin Glazier, 19 on March 4; Judy Shade, March 7; Leanne Pollock and Shane Richards, March 4.

A spaghetti dinner was held Saturday evening in Needmore Firehall, and Asbury United Methodist Church held a pancake and sausage breakfast on Saturday.

Forbes Road School District hosted a district jazz festival in the school auditorium on Saturday. Fifty students from across the district, including Fulton County, performed.

Public Opinion honor roll basketball student-athletes of the week were Shania Gelvin, Tristan Gelvin and Macklin Hawkins from Forbes Road; and Chase Novak and Bronwyne Mellott, McConnellsburg.

Sympathy goes out to the families of Leo Foreman, Olive Hann and Virginia Crouse who all passed away recently.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was the winner of the Daytona 500 race after a five-hour rain delay on Sunday. It was his second 500 race win.

Leonard and Dorotha Hann will observe their 60th wedding anniversary on February 27.

Hustontown Fire Co. held an open stage night on Saturday.

Donald and Doris Ray will observe their 67th wedding anniversary on March 1.

Frank Shives of Cito is home recuperating after having a heart attack last week and being hospitalized in Chambersburg Hospital.

McConnellsburg Lions Club held its seventh annual crab feed and silent auction at McConnellsburg American Legion Home on Saturday evening.

A Valentine’s Day school dance, under the supervision of Kathy Kendall, was held Saturday evening in the alumni building. Children up to eighth grade attended. A great time was had by all.
