Medical Center Auxiliary News
The newly elected officers of Fulton County Medical Center Auxiliary met January 6 to review the past year and plan for the coming year. The officers for the coming two years are Judy Eisaman - president; Sally Cover - vice president; Carol Mellott - treasurer; and Nancy Younker - secretary. Betty Shelly is chair of the craft committee; Judy Eisaman is chair of the baked goods committee; Sally Cover is chair of the kitchen committee; and Judy Shade is chair of the church services committee. Faye Elvey is the membership chair and always is ready to welcome new members.
Looking back at the past year, the members logged 3,256 hours of volunteer time. There are now 31 life members, 28 active members and 27 inactive members. Anyone knowing of someone who would like to help others, loves to bake or sew and has time to share, please have them contact Wendy Farling at 717-485- 6116. There are many different areas that need volunteers. You do not need to be a member of the auxiliary to volunteer.
Through the many soup and bake sales, fall festival events, book sales, cookbook sales, raffles, gift shop sales, carwashes, cookie dough sales and Tree of Love, the auxiliary was able to end the year with a very positive balance. It takes a lot of work and dedication to do this but it also takes supportive people.
Starting out 2013, a donation of $20,000 to the FCMC Wound Center was made. At the February 3 meeting it was decided what special project to fund this year. As well as making a major donation, smaller opportunities are also supported such as breast cancer awareness and the Women’s health fair. The auxiliary also supports the FCMC Golf Tournament and auction dinner and other projects as they arise.
The next event will be February 7. It is a soup and bake sale. Purchase a quart of ham and bean soup, vegetable beef soup or chicken corn soup for $4.50 a quart. Orders must be called in by February 1. Call Judy Eisaman at 485-4201 to place an order.
