Thanks Community For Its Support Of Operation Christmas Child

To The Editor:

On behalf of the South Central Operation Christmas Child (OCC) team of Samaritan’s Purse, we would like to thank your news staff for covering the organization’s events of 2013 and the National Collection Week in November 2013.

A special thank-you goes out to the entire community for supporting the ministry by opening their doors to serve as collection points, volunteering to prepare and ship the boxes. Most importantly, we thank every man, woman and child that packed a shoebox for OCC. South Central OCC could not have collected and shipped the 39,130 boxes without the support of hundreds of volunteers. During the National Collection Week, volunteers at the Mont Alto facility packed more than 8,500 boxes and also prepared school kits, getting an early start for 2014.

The OCC Shoebox ministry reaches children around the world, some of which live without ever receiving a single gift of any kind from anyone. The shoebox is a tool to allow the Gospel Opportunity to reach children and their families everywhere and gives them hope and love found in Jesus Christ.

We look forward to your continued support and help to make 2014 successful as well.
