Fortunately we didn’t get a big snowstorm, but the weather did cause some slippery roads.

June Bennett of Carlisle spent Sunday with her mother, Kate Berkstresser. Harvey Berkstresser called in the same home. Herbert and Tammy Berkstresser also visited with Kate last week. Beverly St. Clair of Chambersburg visited on Monday.

Belated happy birthday wishes to Ed Keefer on January 12; Yvonne Cook, January 18; and also happy birthday wishes to June Bennett, January 22; Herbert Berkstresser, January 22; Barbara Torcasco on January 23; and Pamela Plant on January 24.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a shooting match Saturday, January 18, at 1 p.m. Signin begins at noon. Firstand second-place prizes will be awarded and shells will be furnished. Come out and give it a try and support the volunteer firemen.

Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage on Saturday, January 25, at 6 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out and share their talent or just come out and enjoy the talent of others. Bring a friend and we hope to see you there.

Sorry to hear Frederic Knepper is in Harrisburg Hospital suffering with a brain hemorrhage. We send speedy recovery wishes to him. Also sorry to hear Kayla Cromer is suffering from food poisoning. She is Frederic’s granddaughter. We send get well wishes her way.

Household Hint: If using candles, put candles in refrigerator a few hours before using and there will be no dripping of wax.
