Local Relay For Life Kickoff Event Planned

The Fulton County Unit of the American Cancer Society (ACS) is planning its Relay For Life annual kickoff event for Sunday, January 19, at 1:30 p.m. The kickoff will be held in the second floor Pearl Room of Fulton County Medical Center. Anyone interested in finding out more about Relay For Life or the ACS is invited to attend.

Information and materials on forming a Relay For Life team, educational materials on ACS programs and services, and refreshments will be available to all who attend. The community is asked to attend and find out the theme for this year’s Relay For Life, which is scheduled for Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17, at the McConnellsburg High School track and field in Mc- Connellsburg.

Relay For Life is a familyfriendly event for the Cancer Society that raises money for lifesaving cancer research, educational programs aimed at cancer prevention and patient services and advocacy for those facing cancer. Teams formed by families, businesses, churches, clubs and schools raise money throughout the year, coming together for the event that provides entertainment and activities, remembers those lost to cancer and celebrates those who have survived or are surviving cancer.

Snow date for the kickoff is Sunday, January 26, at the same time and place. For additional information please contact Connie Woodruff at connie.woodruff@cancer.org or 717-264-6266.
