A surprise 50th wedding anniversary party was held for Mike and Linda Harr Saturday at the McConnellsburg American Legion.

Pete and Bessie Rasp observed their 66th wedding anniversary on January 5.

Frank and Connie Shives observed their 50th anniversary recently.

VFW held its Christmas party December 22 with more than 200 attending. A good time was had by all. The club donated more than $85,000 to local charities and organizations last year.

Sympathy goes out to the families of Dave Welsh, Mary Summers, Marie Keefer, Audrey Cutchall and John Keefer who all passed away over the holiday season.

Rhoda Sowers and sister Bonnie and Ida Strait, Mike and Stacey Clevenger and families, Mack Clevenger and Cassandra Clevenger spent Christmas dinner with Lisa and Wade Kemp, Harold, Andrea and Courtney and her family. Lisa took them through their ancestors way back to the 1800s.

McConnellsburg girls soccer team and coaches held their banquet recently in Cito Methodist Church social hall. The players’ families also attended.

Forbes Road girls basketball team won the Teddy Thanos Memorial Tournament, beating Fannett-Metal by a point.

Very cold winter weather arrived over the weekend with temperatures dropping to almost zero.

The 98th Farm Show started on Saturday.

Bob and Teresa Carter observed their 13th wedding anniversary on January 7.

Congratulations to Christopher Waite and Ricki Gelvin who were married New Year’s Eve at Celebrations Hall. A reception fol- lowed the ceremony.

Cody Trail and Sara Wenschoff received the highest FFA award at the PA Farm Show.They are members of the Fulton County chapter and were awarded the Keystone Degree. Please keep Cody in your prayers. He will undergo three more infusions for his cancer.
