Dodgeball Tournament A Success
The eighth grade Character Education Class at McConnellsburg Middle School decided to help others as part of their community outreach project. They held a Glow in the Dark Dodge Ball Cancer Tournament Friday, December 6, 2013, at Mc- Connellsburg Elementary gym in McConnellsburg. The winners got to select where all the money raised for the event was to go. The winning team, Dumb- Dumb Dodgers, chose to help three young men in their fight against cancer. The $1,125 the class raised will be evenly donated to Tristan Douglas, a senior at Southern Fulton High School; Cody Trail, a senior at McConnellsburg High School; and John-athan Farling, an eighth-grade student at McConnellsburg Middle School. All three boys are fighting cancer.
The students were amazed at the outstanding turnout of spectators and teams. A total of 13 teams signed up with a total of 85 players competing.
