Elks Hold Soccer Awards Banquet

On November 18, 2013, Chambersburg Elks Lodge #600 held a recognition banquet to honor the top three boys and girls who participated in the 2013 Elks Soccer Shoot championship. The following are the results:

U8 Girls: first – Sawere Truax, daughter of Lisa and Brad Truax, Needmore, with a score of 37; second – Rylea Ramsey, daughter of Autumn Ramsey and Troy Ramsey of McConnellsburg, with a score of 26.

U8 Boys: first – Cooper Noblit, son of Kathy and Chris Noblit of Greencastle, with a score of 31; second – Colton Hunsecker, son of Shannon and Rodney Hunsecker of Fayetteville, with a score of 28; and third – Phillip Rotz, son of Leslie and Johnnie Rotz of Harrisonville, with a score of 27.

U10 Girls: first – Alaryn Swope, daughter of Wendy Gelvin and Kevin Swope of McConnellsburg, with a score of 46 ( setting a new local record); second – Courtney Andruczk, daughter of Christa and Paul Andruck of Greencastle, with a score of 41; and third – Lainnie Glenn, daughter of Crystal and Jeff Glenn of McConnellsburg, with a score of 37.

U12 Girls: first – Addy Crouse, daughter of Jennifer Crouse of Chambersburg and Travis Crouse of Big Cove Tannery, with a score of 41; second place – Hannah Spangler, daughter of Beth and Alan of Chambersburg, with a score of 40; and third Madison Kirkwood, daughter of Deena and Todd Kirkwood of Greencastle, with a score of 36 & 35 after a shootout.

U14 Girls: first – Ashlee Rowles, daughter of Bobbi Rowles of Shippensburg, with a score of 41; second – Heidi Schanzenbacher, daughter of Kathy and Eric of Greencastle, with a score of 40; and third – Shianne Reaves, daughter of Lorayne and James Reaves of Greencastle with a score of 38.

A total of 975 children from Chambersburg, Fannett-Metal, Forbes Road, Greencastle, Mc- Connellsburg, Mercersburg, Shippensburg and Southern Fulton competed in the 2013 soccer shoot trials and finals this year .

Sawere Truax, Colton Hunsecker, Alaryn Swope, Addy Crouse and Ashlee Rowles will represent Chambersburg Elks Lodge # 600 and the South Central District at the Pennsylvania State Championship Saturday, December 14, in State College.

Next event for all children 8-13 will be the Elks Hoop Shoot Sunday, January 12, 2014, starting at 2 p.m.
