Checkbook Stolen

A checkbook was stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of East Cherry Street in McConnellsburg on Saturday, December 8, at 7 p.m. Victim is a 46-year-old Fort Littleton man. An eyewitness to the theft advised the victim of the unknown individual inside his vehicle, state police said. Anyone having further information regarding this theft from a motor vehicle should immediately contact state police Trooper Doriguzzi at 717- 485-3131.

Police Investigate Mischief

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg investigated criminal mischief that occurred on Saturday, December 7, at 648 Lincoln Way East in McConnellsburg Borough. Police said an individual entered the residence at 4:30 p.m. and verbally argued with a 40-year-old female from McConnellsburg. The individual, who was not identified by state police, then punched and shattered a window at the home.

Driver Cited n I-70 Accident

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg have cited a Owings Mills, Md., woman with driving a vehicle at unsafe speeds in connection with an accident along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70.

According to reports, on Sunday, December 8, Tatyana Belyaninova, 67, lost control of her 2013 Nissan Sentra on the snow-covered roadway. The car spun and struck an embankment along the Union Township roadway twice at 12:30 p.m. She was wearing a seat belt and escaped injury.

Accident At Rest Area

A legally parked 2013 Freightliner Conventional was rear-ended along the entrance ramp to the Interstate 70 rest area in Bethel Township.

State police said Joan F. Kangas, 29, of Hyattsville, Md., slid on the snow-covered roadway on Sunday, December 8, at 10:35 a.m. and struck the rear of the tractor-trailer driven by Carl L. Sandridge, 57, of Raphine, Va.

Sandridge was not injured nor was Kangas and her passengers, 61-year-old William E. Kangas, a 3-yearold boy, and an infant. All individuals were wearing seat belts or were strapped into a child safety seat.

Joan Kangas is slated to be charged with driving a vehicle at unsafe speeds.

No One Injured In Bedford County Crash

Pennsylvania State Police in Bedford reported there were no injuries during an accident in East Providence Township on November 30. Police said Kenneth Harr of McConnellsburg was changing lanes along Route 30 in Breezewood at 3:45 p.m. and failed to notice a Toyota Prius that was stopped in the middle lane for a red light. The name of the other driver was not released by state police.

Tractor-Trailer Hits Pole

A 2005 Volvo tractor-trailer struck a traffic pole near the intersection of Lincoln Way East and North Second Street in McConnellsburg Borough last Thursday. State police said Luibomyr Fedorniak, 40, of Des Plaines, Ill., was unable to successfully navigate the intersection and struck the pole at 6:58 p.m. Police said damage was sustained to the trailer’s axles. The driver was wearing a seat belt and was not harmed.

Vehicle Strikes Mailbox

A47-year-old Three Springs man told state police troopers a deer attempted to cross Sinoquipe Road last Thursday in front of his westbound 2000 Saturn SC2.

Police said Craig A. Starr swerved to miss the deer but lost control of his vehicle on the wet Dublin Township roadway. The vehicle struck a mailbox and suffered disabling damage during the 11:01 p.m. accident, which resulted in charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and summary offenses being filed against the driver. Starr was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Vehicle Strikes Trees

A westbound 2003 Ford Expedition crashed into two trees along South Madden Road on Wednesday, December 4, state police said. The 11 p.m. accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle on the 3000 block of the Taylor Township roadway. Police did not release the name of the driver or indicate if the individual was hurt.

Burglary Reported

A 34-year- old McConnellsburg woman told state police investigators she was the victim of a break-in on December 4. According to reports, burglars entered the apartment located at 120 North Second Street, Mc- Connellsburg, through a window between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Among the items taken was a PSP3 and a Fuji digital camera, which have been valued at $160. Anyone having further information pertinent to this case should contact state police Trooper Watkins at 717-485-3131.

Car Hits Utility Pole

A Three Springs woman was not injured when her northbound 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt struck a utility pole along Waterfall Road. State police said Melissa R. Steach, 18, lost control of her car while rounding a lefthand curve in the Taylor Township roadway on November 29. Steach was wearing a seat belt during the 11:35 a.m. accident. She will be cited for failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic.

Man Accused Of PFA Violation

A 26-year-old man from Breezewood has been accused of violating a protection from-abuse order on December 4, state police reported. The man allegedly violated the active order by contacting a 26-year-old female, also from Breezewood, at 3 a.m. at 9786 Old 126.

Two Charged With Harassment

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg have charged two McConnellsburg area men with harassment for an incident along Pleasant Ridge Road.

State police said 19-yearold Kenneth Matthew Harr and John Michael Clippinger, 18, have been cited through the office of Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne. The men were allegedly involved in a physical altercation due to rumors being spread by one of the involved parties.

Dehumidifier Stolen

A dehumidifier valued at $250 was stolen from 26000 Great Cove Road, Mc- Connellsburg, between November 1 and November 11. Victim is a 43-year-old male from Fayetteville. Anyone having further information concerning this theft is asked to call state police Trooper Watkins at 717-485-3131.

Altercation Turns Physical

State police in Mc- Connellsburg investigated an argument that turned physical on December 2. A 31-year-old female and a 39- year-old male were reportedly involved in the 11:30 p.m. dispute at 3000 North Clear Ridge Road in Taylor Township. The names of the involved individuals were not released by state police.

Crime, Patrol Reported Released

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg recently released a crime and patrol activity report for the month of November, during which a total of 61 criminal offenses were reported. Of those incidents, 35 offenses were cleared and 33 arrests were made.

In addition, patrol troopers investigated 50 accidents, three hit-and-run accidents, one fatal accident and one driving-under-theinfluence related crash. State police said one individual died and 13 were injured as a result of accidents last month. Troopers also issued 72 seat-belt citations, nine child safety seat citations, six driving-under-theinfluence citations, 365 written warnings and 694 traffic citations.

Wells Tannery Man Charged In Accident

Pennsylvania State Police in Bedford have charged a Wells Tannery man following a hit-and-run accident in the parking lot of Walmart. On November 22 at approximately 4 p.m., Eric M. Winter, 28, allegedly struck a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. Winter, police said, was travelling northbound into southbound traffic when the crash occurred. Winter reportedly left the scene in his 1992 Chevrolet van.
