Helen V. Knepper Wells Valley, 100
Helen Virginia Mosebey Knepper, 100, Wells Valley, Pa., died Friday, December 6, 2013, at The Shook Home, Chambersburg.
She was born in Dry Run, Pa., August 11, 1913, the daughter of the late Robert L. and Carrie R. (Rosenberry) Mosebey. She was the widow of Don C. Knepper, whom she married on July 11, 1940.
She was schooled in Wells Valley, Pa., was a member of the Wells Valley Presbyterian Church since October 31, 1926, and was lauded as the oldest member until her death.
She was employed at Long View Lodge and Penn Hall Preparatory School prior to spending most of her life as a wife, mother and homemaker.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, painting, watching the birds and visiting with her numerous friends and family members. Her bright-blue eyes lit up each time a new caller stopped by to visit.
She is survived by sons: Rodney C. Knepper of Wells Valley; James Stephen Knepper of Chambersburg; sisters: Lottie McBride of Harrisburg and Rebecca Fix of Chambersburg; grandchildren: Bryan Knepper of Fayetteville; Collen Knepper of Bedford; Selena Knepper of Mercersburg; Gina Knepper of Everett; Melissa Jo Knepper of Camp Hill; Joshua Knepper of Chambersburg; Kris Lininger of Chambersburg; and Cheryl Lininger of McConnellsburg; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings: Roselyn Mosebey, W. Lyle Mosebey, Glen F. Mosebey, Dorothy “Dot” Norcross and Robert L. Mosebey Jr.
Services were held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Pastor Bill Myers officiated. Interment was at Wells Valley Methodist Cemetery, Wells Tannery.
