Local Residents Making A Difference

McConnellsburg, Fulton County and south-central Pennsylvania locals are making a difference in the lives of needy children this Christmas with gift-filled shoeboxes. Through Operation Christmas Child, the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, local volunteers have collected and prepared 39,130 gifts.

Volunteers will be working in the coming weeks to prepare, package and transport the 7.2 million gifts collected in Fulton County and across the United States to their final destination.

Fulton County residents can still get involved by building a box online. Through an online tool, participants can conveniently send shoebox gifts to kids in some of the hardest-to-reach countries.

There also are year-round volunteer opportunities available to serve with Operation Christmas Child. Find out how you can use your gifts and talents to make a difference in children’s lives around the world by visiting www.samaritanspurse.org/occ.
