Pittsburgh Forgets Don’t Pay Notice On Meters
PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh authorities forgot to add a holiday notice to electronic parking meters, so some shoppers paid when there was no need.
Parking Authority executive director David Onorato says it was an oversight not to update the meters with news that Saturday parking was supposed to be free, in honor of National Small Business day.
The Pittsburgh Post- Gazette reports that Onorato says people who paid can call the parking authority or come in with a parking receipt and get a refund.
The parking authority has the ability to send a special display message to each of the electronic kiosks, which have replaced traditional meters in the city.
