Woman Injured

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident along North Hess Road Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, 39- year-old Jill Ann Cline of Waterfall lost control of her northbound 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer on the snow-covered roadway at 1:37 p.m. The vehicle travelled onto the eastern berm where it ran into a ditch.

Cline was wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries. State police were aided on the scene by PennDOT and Tinman Towing.

Passenger Flown Out Following Crash

A Six Mile Run woman was flown to Altoona Regional Hospital Sunday morning after suffering moderate injuries during an accident in Wells Township.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg said 68- year-old Ruth E. Figard was a passenger in a 2011 GMC Yukon XL driven by Robert Samuel Figard, 68, of Six Mile Run. Robert Figard lost control of the vehicle on snow-covered Route 4010 at 10:54 a.m. The vehicle travelled onto the eastern berm where it struck a tree.

Robert nor Ruth Figard neither were wearing a seat belt, and Robert suffered minor injuries. He will be cited in connection with the crash. State police were assisted on the scene by Hustontown Volunteer Fire and EMS Co., as well as Fischer’s Towing.

Vehicle Rear-Ended

A McConnellsburg man sustained minor injuries when his eastbound vehicle was rear-ended along Breezy Point Road.

State police reported Jeffrey H. Brady, 64, was travelling in the direction of Great Cove Road in Dublin Township when he came to a stop on Sunday, November 24, at 9: 14 a. m. Brady’s 1999 Chrysler Cirrus was rearended by an eastbound 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Donna J. House, 64, of McConnellsburg.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. House will be cited, state police added.

Police Investigate Porsche Theft

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg are currently investigating the theft of a partially restored blue and silver 1983 Porsche from 8060 Great Cove Road, Needmore.

The theft of the Porsche as well as an enclosed car trailer is believed to have occurred between 8 p.m. on October 20 and 5 p.m. on October 24. The trailer is described as a black, 26-footlong trailer with a Mustang pony emblem on both sides and on the rear door. Anyone having further information pertaining to this case should contact state police Trooper Huff at 717-485- 3131.

Trail Cameras Missing

A 43-year-old Winchester, Va., man told state police investigators two Moultrie trail cameras were stolen from a wooded area along Lick Hollow Road between noon on November 2 and noon on November 8. Anyone with additional information concerning this case is asked to call state police Trooper Piasecki at 717-485- 3131.

Theft At Cardinal Glenn Apartments

A Ryobi cordless drill with an 18-volt battery and battery charger were stolen from the main office area of the the Cardinal Glenn Apartments, McConnellsburg, between 4 p.m. on November 18 and 8:45 a. m. on November 22. Anyone having further information linked to this theft is urged to call state police Trooper Piasecki at 717-485-3131.

Police Investigate DUI Crash

State police in McConnellsburg arrested a male driver for driving under the influence of alcohol as well as reckless driving in connection with a single-vehicle accident at the Cito United Methodist Church.

Police did not identify the driver but indicated his 2005 Honda CRV was legally parked in the church parking lot at 8:35 p.m. on November 16. The man attempted to exit the parking lot onto Union Church Road but instead went off the asphalt and down a 5-foot embankment. The driver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

McConnellsburg Man Arrested For DUI

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg have charged 34-year- old Mc- Connellsburg resident Joseph Lee Jones with driving under the influence. Police said they stopped Jones for a traffic violation along Lincoln Way East in McConnellsburg Borough on Sunday, November 24, at 1:55 a.m. Charges against Jones will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.

Theft Reported

A 70-year- old Breezewood man told state police he was the victim of theft between noon on November 19 and noon on November 20. Several vehicle batteries and radiators were stolen from a truck parked at 945 Lincoln Highway in Brush Creek Township. Two portable welders were also reported missing. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident should immediately contact state police Trooper Doriguzzi at 717-485-3131.

Driver Cited In Crash

A Mercersburg man faces charges of driving a vehicle at unsafe speeds in connection with a single-vehicle accident along Lincoln Highway Friday night.

According to state police, Tyson E. Keith, 22, was travelling eastbound when he lost control of his 2004 Ford Explorer on the wet roadway at 10:35 p.m. The vehicle travelled across the Licking Creek Township road and struck a guiderail on the northern berm. Police added that following initial impact, the Explorer travelled backwards and eventually dropped into a ditch.

Keith and passenger Katie E. Warren, 21, also of Mercersburg, were both wearing seat belts. Warren sustained minor injuries but did not require medical transport.

Vehicle Registration Stolen

The registration of a vehicle parked at 143 Union Church Road in Ayr Township was stolen between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 22. Anyone having additional information concerning this theft is asked to call state police Trooper Garner at 717-485- 3131.

Woman Accused Of Aggravated Assault

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg have charged a county woman with aggravated assault and various other criminal charges in connection with an incident on Saturday, November 16, in Todd Township.

Police reported 42-yearold Christine Marie Sipes is accused of intentionally striking a 47-year-old man with her car between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The victim was riding his motorcycle along Lincoln Highway near the Franklin County line when the incident occurred.

Two Cited For Harassment

Two Warfordsburg area residents face charges of harassment following an argument that turned physical at 15427 Buck Valley Road. According to state police reports, Shelby Nicole Layton, 22, and 45-year-old Thomas Allen Lamier are accused of striking one another during a dispute on Friday, November 15, at 10:11 p.m.

Logs Stolen

A 64-year- old McConnellsburg man reported to state police investigators six locust logs were stolen at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 26. The logs had been stacked at the intersection of Fulton Drive and Cito Road in Ayr Township. Anyone having further information linked to this theft is asked to contact state police Trooper Poole at 717- 485-3131.

Cellphone Missing

A cellphone was taken from the parking lot of Sheetz in McConnellsburg between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Friday, November 15. The phone could have been lying near a white Oldsmobile Alero or inside the vehicle. Victim is a 27- year-old male from Big Cove Tannery. Anyone having additional information concerning this missing phone should contact state police Trooper Hibner at 717-485-3131.

Two Teens Injured

Two 17-year-old females from Needmore sustained minor injuries during a single vehicle accident along Great Cove Road.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg reported the teens were transported to Fulton County Medical Center immediate following the November 19 accident. Police said the girls’ northbound 2000 Nissan Frontier struck guiderails along both sides of the Bethel Township roadway. The vehicle continued off the left side of the road and went over an embankment. Both teens were wearing seat belts.

Mischief Reported

A 64-year- old McConnellsburg man told state police troopers a full cup of liquid was thrown onto his vehicle, state police said. The mischief occurred at the intersection of Lincoln Way East and South Third Street on November 6 at 6:30 p.m.

Vehicle Catches Fire

An eastbound 2007 Volvo VNL630 suffered an internal issue and caught on fire along Interstate 70 on Monday, November 11, at 9:19 p.m. Driver Daniel M. Miller, 30, of Three Rivers, Mich., was wearing a seat belt and escaped injury during the Bethel Township accident.

Harassment Charges To Be Filed

Charges of harassment are to be filed against three individuals involved in a physical domestic dispute along Union Church Road in Ayr Township.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg reported on November 18 a 32- year-old male and a 32-yearold female, both of Mc- Connellsburg, along with a 17-year-old Greencastle girl were involved in a 5:42 p.m. dispute. Police added the incident stemmed from cigarettes being taken from one of the involved individuals. Police did not release the identity of the adults involved but did say charges will be field through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.

Tractor-Trailer Driver Cited

A tractor-trailer operator from Keensburg, Colo., was cited last Monday following a crash along Great Cove Road at Cutchall’s Gulf Station.

According to state police, Gary J. Syphax attempted to turn left from the business’s parking lot onto Great Cove Road when his tractortrailer struck a utility pole at 1:31 p.m. Syphax continued to the Pennsylvania Turnpike interchange and came to a rest on the interchange ramp.

The tractor-trailer suffered damage to its rear passenger side wheel and required towing from Dublin Township by Interstate Towing.

Syphax was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Police Investigate Tractor-Trailer Accident

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg investigated a tractor-trailer accident that occurred in front of F&M Trust on Tuesday, November 19.

Police said 49-year- old Jacek M. Kasprzak’s struck two poles in front of the bank at 10:20 p.m. while attempting a right turn from Lincoln Way onto North Second Street in McConnellsburg Borough. The northbound 2005 Freightliner continued 200 feet where it travelled onto another sidewalk on the eastern berm.

State police added that Kasprzak travelled 1.7 miles north on Great Cove Road with severe damage to the rear passenger side to its trailer before coming to a rest. A tire was also left in the northbound lane in Mc- Connellsburg Borough.

Kasprzak faces multiple vehicle code violations.

Driver Cited In Accident

A Gap, Pa., man will be cited for driving a vehicle at unsafe speeds in connection with a recent accident along Mountain House Road.

On Sunday, November 17, Daniel D. Sauder was travelling eastbound through Wells Township when he failed to negotiate a sharp left-hand curve at 10:10 a.m., state police said. Sauder’s 2005 Jeep Cherokee slid through a guiderail and down an embankment. The vehicle came to a rest against some trees, police noted.

Sauder, 29, was not injured and was wearing a seat belt during the accident east of the intersection of Jerry Road.

Truck Strikes Deer

A Shippensburg man was not injured when his eastbound 2004 Ford F- 150 struck a white-tailed deer along Lincoln Highway. State police said Ralph E. Harre, 81, was wearing a seat belt during the November 19 accident in Todd Township.

Woman Charged With DUI

A Hustontown woman is to be charged with driving under the influence through the office of Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.

According to state police reports, Laurie Luanne King-Foster, 51, was allegedly stopped by state police at 9:41 p.m. for crossing the white line multiple times while travelling northbound along Great Cove Road. King-Foster was arrested and will be subsequently charged for the November 20 incident.
