Multiple Vehicle Accident Shuts Down I-81 In Pa.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. (AP) – It appears there’s at least one fatality in an accident that shut down Interstate 81 in both directions in southcentral Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania State Police said Franklin County coroner’s officials have arrived at the scene of the accident that happened around 10 a.m. Sunday.

Possibly as many as 10 vehicles, including a tractortrailer, piled up in I-81’s northbound lanes close to Greencastle, near the Maryland border.

Authorities reopened I- 81’s southbound lanes, but northbound lanes remain closed as police investigate.
