The weather gave us a sample Sunday that winter is on the way with a light snowfall. It was enough to cause quite a few accidents, however.

A nice crowd attended the auction at Sam’s Mountain Auction on Saturday evening. There were a lot of green goods, canned items as well as other items. There is no auction next Saturday evening but another the following Saturday at 4 p.m. There are green goods, canned items as well as other items for sale. A good place to spend Saturday evening.

Sorry to hear of the accident in Franklin County that took a life on Sunday morning due to the bad roads. It makes for a sad Thanksgiving, so keep those folks in your prayers.

As we go into the holiday season, especially at Thanksgiving, take time to thank the Master for the things he has given to enjoy in life.

Household Hint: No mess stuffing a turkey – to stuff any fowl without making a mess on the countertop or roasting pan, place a canning jar funnel in the opening of the bird and proceed as filling a jar. Generally a half cup of stuffing per pound is needed.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and a safe journey to everyone travelling.
