Central Pa. Radio Host ‘Frogman’ Kelsey Dead At 56
ALTOONA, Pa. (AP) – The host of a popular central Pennsylvania FM radio morning show known on the air as Steve “ Frogman” Kelsey has died.
Kelsey’s real name was Rob Terdiman. He died Sunday at age 56, two days after suffering a stroke.
The host worked at the station known as WFGY or Froggy 98 in Altoona, and has worked at the station’s predecessor, WFGB Radio, since the 1970s.
He co-hosted the show with Kellie Green from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. weekdays.
Terdiman aka Kelsey regularly visited elementary schools to recite the pledge of allegiance with children and hosted weddings, teen dances and other gigs outside his radio duties.
The station’s program director, Donna Himes, says the radio host is “irreplaceable” as a home-grown personality and says, “our hearts are broken.”
