Five prospective Allegany College of Maryland students were awarded tuition vouchers at the Bedford County Campus of ACM’s recent open house. The five, who are from Bedford, Blair and Fulton counties, illustrate the Everett-based community college’s broad service area. The vouchers, totaling $1,500 and awarded by random drawing, were provided for the campus’ 17th annual event by the Bedford County Regional Education Foundation. The five prospective students are Tara Whitsel of Mc- Connellsburg ($500), a nursing and dental hygiene interest student; Miranda Buterbaugh of Hustontown ($300), also a nursing and dental hygiene interest student; Austin Karns of Everett ($ 200), a prospective business student; Madison Ickes of Claysburg ($300), who likewise is a nursing and dental hygiene interest student; and Madeline Hampson of Bedford ($ 200), a prospective early childhood education major.
