Thelma J. Zeger Fort Loudon, 83

Thelma J. Zeger, 83, Fort Loudon, died at 10:50 p.m., Monday, November 11, 2013, in the emergency room of Chambersburg Hospital.

Born March 3, 1930, at Flickerville, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Garlick Hanks.

She was a former employee of the former U Wanna Wash Frock Co. of Fort Loudon and First National Bank of Mercersburg. She in-home daycare of children in Fort Loudon for more than 20 years.

She was a member of Fort Loudon United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for 37 years and an honorary member of Mercersburg Sportsman’s Association.

Surviving are her husband, Herman L. Zeger, whom she married April 23, 1949; children: Tina M. and husband David Fries of Marion; William L. and wife Linda Zeger of Mercersburg; and Randy S. Zeger and companion Sherri Leidy of Lemasters; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Shaw of Everett.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Lawson; a grandson, Gerald Martinelli Jr.; and five brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 14, at Fort Loudon United Methodist Church with Pastor Laura E. Minnella officiating. Burial will be at Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon. The viewing will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
