To end the month of October with a bang the Forbes Road Student Council sponsored both a spirit week and afternoon fun day at the high school. The activities were to reward those students who attended the schools’ annual open house with their parents.

On Friday, November 1, 2013, the students were encouraged to participate in a Pink Out Day and were asked to wear as much pink as possible. Much of the student body as well as faculty and staff participated.

In addition to wearing pink, the students were challenged to see how much money they could raise to duct tape Mr. Bollman to the lobby wall. All proceeds would be donated to the American Cancer Society (ACS). The students, faculty, and staff blew away their goal and were able to raise more than $600 for the ACS. Ian Seville and Stephen Coughlin raised enough money to be the two students who were allowed to place the final piece of tape over Mr. Bollman’s mouth before removing the chairs underneath him and seeing him officially stuck to the wall. The students had lots of fun spending the morning torturing Mr. Bollman and taunting him, as he was duct taped to the wall.

The students ended their day with a friendly competition of various fun activities. These activities included a live scarecrow decorating contest, mummy race, pumpkin throwing contest, pumpkin pie eating contest, and a haystack scavenger hunt. Fun was had by all and the student council is grateful to all those who participated and helped during the spirit week and pink out day duct tape fundraiser. Everyone more than surpassed the expectations of the day!
