McConnellsburg United Methodist Church held its truck-or-treat on Thursday night.

Sam Roberts was Public Opinion female student-athlete of the week. She is the daughter of Joe and Rhonda Roberts. A junior at Mc- Connellsburg High School, she plays forward/mid-field for the Lady Spartans soccer team. She also plays basket- ball and track. The Lady Spartans coach Toby Mc- Garvey recently won his 100th game since his soccer coaching began in 2005.

Visiting with Bill and Janet Geyer recently were their niece, Tina, and husband Chris of Dale, Md., and their nephew, Steven Mellott of Atlanta, Ga.

Kathleen Hill had shoulder surgery on Wednesday and is now home recuperating.

On Saturday, October 26, a birthday golf outing for Mark Weller and Donnie Truax was held at Black Rock Golf Course in Hagerstown, with 15 friends attending. The day turned into a celebration for Wayne Sowers who aced the 17th hole with a 7 iron. Witnessing the holein one was Pat Shafer, Randy Clever and Greg Lynch. Congratulations go out to Wayne from all who attended.

Last week’s weather welcomed winter temperatures.

McConnellsburg Class of 1964 held its annual get-together at New Fort Restaurant on Saturday.

A Halloween party was held Friday by the Alumni and Friends.

Jim and Faye Butts observed their 46th wedding anniversary on October 28.

Leland Cisney of Texas and Beverly Cisney of Erie were in town to attend their late brother’s memorial service on Saturday. Other relatives and friends were in attendance. It was officiated by Pastor Neil Ray.
