Boys Cross- Country

SF Wins ICC Title

The Southern Fulton boys cross country team captured the Inter-County Conference title last Wednesday placing ahead of competitors from Mount Union, West Branch, Bellwood Antis and Juniata Valley. Two from the Indians squad placed in the top five runners overall with Benji Voight and Jacob Pryor being fourth and fifth with a time of 18:35.

Girls Cross- Country

SF Captures ICC Title

Southern Fulton finished with top honors, placing before West Branch, Juniata Valley, Bellwood Antis and Mount Union last Wednesday night to win the Inter- County Conference championship title. Out of the top- 10 finishers to cross the finish line during the meet, five of those runners were Lady Indians. Macey Hollenshead paved the way with her second place overall finish and time of 22:11. Teammate Olivia Mottern was seventh with a time of 23:35, and an finish time of 23:44 earned Sharlyn Wawro an eighthplace win. Celina Merchant and Madison Baker were ninth and 10th overall for their respective times of 23:48 and 23:50.

Southern Fulton 1

Fannett-Metal secured its fifth- straight victory last Thursday, trouncing Southern Fulton 6-1. Gabby Voight had the lone unassisted goal for the Indians during the Sideling Hill League match. Goalie Shad Gordon rallied for nine saves.

McConnellsburg 3

Forbes Road 1

McConnellsburg’s scoring drought came to an end last Wednesday evening when the Spartans broke their fivegame losing streak and defeated the Forbes Road Cardinals 3-1. Tristin Deneen had two goals for the Spartans, who also received a goal from Patrick Keefer. For the Cardinals, James Kendall had the team’s only goal. Forbes Road goalie Macklin Hawkins closed out the Sideling Hill League game with 12 saves.

What was a close game going into the halftime break broke wide open last Tuesday with Hyndman winning the non-league game over Forbes Road 5- 1. Aaron Schepis scored for the Cardinals, who received an assist from Tyson Berkstresser. Macklin Hawkins, goalie, recorded 14 saves for Forbes Road.

Hyndman connected on a penalty kick with 16 minutes left in regular play last Monday to defeat Mc- Connellsburg by the score of 1- 0. Spartan goalie Nick Daniels recorded five saves during the non-league game.

Northern Bedford 3

Forbes Road 0

Northern Bedford scored two goals early on last Monday night and cruised to a 3- 0 Sideling Hill League victory over Forbes Road. Carditian nal goalie Macklin Hawkins tallied 15 saves during the match.

Chestnut Ridge 6

Southern Fulton 0

Chestnut Ridge scored three unanswered goals before and after the halftime break last Monday to down Southern Fulton 6-0. During the Sideling Hill League match, goalie Shad Gordon rallied for 14 saves in goal.

Chestnut Ridge 1

McConnellsburg clinched its third-consecutive Sideling Hill League championship title last Thursday evening with a 4-1 victory over Chestnut Ridge. Sam Roberts led the Lady Spartans scoring effort with two goals and one assist. Hannah McGarvey added a goal, and Jordin Smith had a goal and an assist. Goalkeeper Sarrah Pollock closed out the league match with nine saves.

West Branch 1

McConnellsburg overcame West Branch Saturday afternoon to finally clinch the Inter-County Conference championship title. Taking the title in overtime by the final score of 2-1, Brittany Parson and McKenzi Garlock scored goals for the Lady Spartans. Sam Roberts added an assist. Goalkeeper Sarrah Pollock recorded the win with seven saves in goal.

North Star 3

McConnellsburg 1

McConnellsburg was handed its very first loss of the season last Tuesday night at the hands of North Star. The Lady Spartans ended the non-league game in a 3- 1 loss, with Sam Roberts scoring her team’s only goal off an assist by Jordin Smith. Goalkeeper Sarrah Pollock had 12 saves during the match.

Southern Huntingdon 0

Forbes Road downed Southern Huntingdon for the third-consecutive time this season last Thursday. The Lady Cardinals clinched the Keystone League match with 10 unanswered goals, which included four goals and one assist by Malea Truax. Brittany Truax had two goals and two assists, and Lara Cromer added two goals and one assist. Kiersten Cline tallied one goal and four assists, and Shania Gelvin had a goal as well. Braylin Hohman closed out the day with three assists.

Fannett-Metal 1

Peyton Koons led the Southern Fulton Lady Indians last Thursday during a 3- 1 ousting of the Fannett-Metal Tigers. Koons tallied 28 service points, 10 assists and six aces, while teammate Cheyenne Koons rallied for four kills, 10 service points and two aces. Maggie Deneen added 10 digs, and Celina Merchant finished with six kills.

Cumberland Valley

Cumberland Valley Chris- took last Friday evening’s match in three straight sets against Fulton County Community Christian School. Cumberland Valley closed out the sets 25-15, 25-16 and 25-14.

McConnellsburg 3

Tussey Mountain 0

McConnellsburg pulled off a narrow victory in the opening set last Wednesday and cruised to a 3-0 Sideling Hill League win over the Tussey Mountain Titans. Kylie Keefer led the Lady Spartans with 14 assists, 20 digs and six aces. Teammate Jessi Keefer posted 16 kills and four blocks, while Reva Souders finished with eight digs.

Southern Fulton’s threegame winning streak came to a halt last Tuesday as Tussey Mountain easily ran away for a 3-0 Sideling Hill League victory. Celina Merchant tallied 10 digs and three aces during the loss, while Macey Hollenshead had three kills. Peyton Koons added eight assists and four service points, and Ashley Roman recorded two blocks.

Hyndman managed a win in the third set, but Mc- Connellsburg prevailed last Thursday to win the Sideling Hill League match by the end score of 3-1. Jessi Keefer recorded 20 kills, and teammate Kylie Keefer followed with three blocks, 24 assists and 10 digs. Reva Souders tallied 12 digs, and Carly Swope had six aces.

Southern Fulton 3

Allegany 0

In itsbest outing and performance of the fall season, Southern Fulton swept Allegany, Md., in three straight sets last Monday evening. Kylie Covalt recorded 21 service points and five aces, while teammate Celina Merchant added six kills and five digs. Macey Hollenshead had three kills, and Peyton Koons contributed six assists, four aces and 11 service points.
