Checks Stolen

Several checks were stolen from a residence on the 800 block of Quarry Hill Road between noon on September 23 and 10:45 a.m. on October 9. Victim is an 82- year-old Warfordsburg area man. Anyone having further information pertinent to this case should contact state police Trooper Doriguzzi at 717-485-3131.

Suicide Investigated

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg and the Fulton County Coroner’s Office investigated a suicide at The Pen-Mar Club earlier this month.

According to state police, troopers were dispatched to the club grounds located at 1067 Stoneybreak Road, Warfordsburg, on October 4 at 7:55 p.m. Reports indicate 56-year- old James Louis Knight was pronounced dead at the scene at 10 p.m. by county Coroner Berley Souders.

Police said cause of death in the case has been linked to massive head trauma due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Driver Cited Following Accident

A Columbus, Ohio, resident faces charges of driving without a license and failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic following a single-vehicle accident along Lincoln Highway.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg reported Clara Masculino was travelling too fast for the wet roadway conditions and lost control of her eastbound 2004 Honda Civic. The car spun across the road and into a grassy area where it struck a tree at 12:18 p.m. on October 13.

The 34-year- old driver was wearing a seat belt and escaped injury. The Honda suffered disabling damage in the accident just east of the intersection of Woodlawn Drive.

Two Arrested For Retail Theft

Two McConnellsburg residents were arrested in Franklin County recently on charges of theft by deception and retail theft.

According to state police in Chambersburg, on Saturday, October 12, Dillon Scott Clevenger, 21, and 23-yearold Shane William Meck allegedly took items off the shelves of Walmart and asked for a refund on the items at the customer service desk. Customer service issued a refund and obtained the driver’s licenses of the accused.

Toolbox Stolen

A black, plastic Bostich toolbox was stolen from the bed of a truck parked at 292 Buchanan Trail in Ayr Township on Saturday, October 12. Victim of the theft, which is believed to have occurred between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., is a 57-year-old male from Needmore. Anyone having further information pertinent to this case should contact state police Trooper Garner at 717-485-3131.

Man Arrested For Underage Drinking

A Wells Tannery man was arrested in Bedford County in late September for underage drinking, Pennsylvania State Police said. Twentyyear old Joshua Calvin Winter was arrested by state police in Coaldale Borough on September 23 at 12:36 p.m. Charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge Brian Baker.

Computers Stolen

A laptop computer and a tablet were stolen from 421 Lincoln Way East, Mc- Connellsburg, on September 27, state police said. Victim is a 20-year-old female from McConnellsburg. Anyone having further information pertinent to this case should contact state police Trooper Poole at 717-485- 3131.

Golf Course Reports Theft

Officials from Great Cove Golf Course in McConnellsburg reported to state police investigators two flag sticks were removed from the greens between 8 p.m. on October 8 and 9 a.m. on October 9. Anyone with additional information concerning this incident is urged to call state police Trooper Piasecki at 717- 485-3131.

Maryland Man Accused Of Harassment

Charges of harassment were filed through Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne against a Sharpsburg, Md., man. State police reported 41-year-old Jeffery Darl Exline allegedly grabbed and shoved a 43- year-old woman from Hustontown on Tuesday, October 22. The 12:25 a.m. incident occurred at 147 First Street, Hustontown.

Hit-And-Run Investigated

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg investigated a hit-and-run accident along Cherry Street in McConnellsburg Borough Friday afternoon.

According to reports, an unknown vehicle attempted to leave a parking space on the north side on the street and struck the rear passenger side of a 2010 Ford Focus at 2:30 p.m. Anyone with additional information linked to this accident just west of the intersection of Maple Street should contact state police Trooper Miller at 717- 485-3131.

Marijuana Found

Pennsylvania State Police troopers were dispatched to a residence along Pleasant Grove Road near the intersection of Great Cove Road on Saturday, October 19, for reports of an alleged party with possible illegal drugs. Police said no party was discovered at 8:30 p.m. but a small amount of marijuana and smoking pipes were observed and seized. Charges against 23- year-old Needmore resident Kyle Eugene Harr are pending through the office of Magisterial District Judge Tamela Heming.

Stun Gun Missing

A McConnellsburg woman reported to state police a stun gun was stolen from her storage unit located along Great Cove Road in Todd Township. The theft is believed to have occurred between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 18. Anyone with information is urged to contact state police Trooper Miller at 717- 485-3131.

Generators Stolen

Two Honda 1000 portable generators were stolen from under a camper parked along Great Cove Road in Todd Township between 11:30 p.m. on October 19 and 8:30 a.m. on October 20. Victim is a Chambersburg man. Anyone having further information regarding this theft should immediately contact state police Trooper Miller at 717-485-3131.

Fort Littleton Woman Arrested Twice

A 20-year-old Fort Littleton woman was arrested twice Saturday afternoon for several harassments that occurred during the Fulton Fall Folk Festival.

Pennsylvania State Police alleged at 2 p.m. in Todd Township Kelsey Renee Lilley communicated with a 20- year-old female from Hustontown in a harassing manner. An hour later along Great Cove Road in the area of Knobsville, Lilley is accused of harassing a 24-yearold Hustontown man. Charges against Lilley will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.

Three Injured In Accident

Three individuals suffered injures ranging from minor to moderate during a two-vehicle accident along Great Cove Road on Saturday, October 19.

According to state police reports, a 17-year-old girl from Needmore lost control of her northbound 2000 Saturn LS2, which crossed Great Cove Road and into the path of an oncoming 1995 Chevrolet 1500 driven by George Rockwell Jr., 47, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Rockwell was not injured in the 5:43 p.m. accident north of the intersection of Timber Ridge Road. However, Lane and Rockwell’s passengers, Cindy C. Rockwell, 44, and an 8-year- old boy, also of Berkeley Springs, were injured and required transport to Fulton County Medical Center. All four individuals were wearing seat belts. Lane is slated to be charged with failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic.

Woman Killed By Another Car After Hitting Deer

BEDFORD, Pa. (AP) – State police say a western Pennsylvania woman has been fatally struck by a pickup truck after she hit a deer then got out of her vehicle to warn other motorists to slow down.

Troopers from the Bedford barracks say the driver of the other vehicle swerved, but couldn’t avoid hitting 57- year- old Glenda Riley, shortly after 10 p.m. Monday .

Police say the Everett woman was on Route 220 north of Bedford when her vehicle hit the deer. As others in her car tried to remove the animal’s carcass from the road, Riley stood in the road flagging down other motorists to slow down.

The other driver, a 48- year-old man from Manns Choice, told police he tried to slow down, but couldn’t stop before hitting Riley. Police haven’t charged that man.
