Raymond L. Ramsey Jr., 81
Raymond L. “Pickles” Ramsey Jr., 81, of Defiance, Pa., died at his home surrounded by loved ones Tuesday, October 15, 2013.
He was born in Six Mile Run, Pa., on September 20, 1932, a son of the late Agnes (Melius) Ramsey and Raymond L. Ramsey Sr.
On September 21, 1968, in West Virginia, he was united in marriage to Donna J. (Cornelius) Ramsey. She survives at home.
He last worked as a truck driver for Selco and had also previously worked as a coalminer.
During his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his four-wheeler and tractors and working on cars. He was considered a “jack- of-alltrades.”
Along with his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Pamela Grimes, of Defiance, Pa.; and Melinda Brown, of Broad Top, Pa.; and a son, David Scitticatt, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Doris Stone, of Florida; two brothers: Charles Ramsey, of Bailey, N.C.; and Robert Ramsey, of Imler, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; an uncle, Dick Fisher, of Robertsdale; and an aunt, Martha Knepper, of Hustontown.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deborah Dawn, and a sister, Sonja Perrin.
Funeral Services were held at Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc., Broad Top City, at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 19. Pastor Tim McIntyre officiated. Interment will be held at Duvall’s Cemetery, Six Mile Run.
