Harold L. Keefer, Pa., 71

Dover

Harold L. Keefer, 71, Dover, Pa., died at 2:30 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2013, at his home.

He was the loving husband of Betty L. (Elliott) Keefer. The couple celebrated 49 years of marriage on August 8, 2013.

Born July 6, 1942, in Washington County, Md., he was a son of Mary M. (Graham) Keefer of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and the late Edward L. Keefer.

He had 33 1/2 years of service for Osram Sylvania in York where he was a journeyman tool and die maker.

He attended Bermudian Church of the Brethren.

He enjoyed going to steam tractor shows with his replica 1910 Rumley Oil pull tractor. He also enjoyed blacksmithing, playing horseshoes, camping, hunting and exhibiting antique gas engines. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and was always willing to help anyone in need.

Surviving are two daughters: Karen L. Brothers, New Oxford, and Leona L. Buss and husband Dave, York Haven; grandchildren: Jesse Miller, Jacob Brothers, Kaytelin H. Carlson, Matthew and Maggie Buss; great-grandchildren: Adelyn, Eric and Zane; and a sister, Mary Chalupka and husband Gerald, Needmore.

He was precede din death by a daughter, Anne Louise Carlson Hall.

Funeral services were held at 6 p.m. Monday, October 7, at Bermudian Church of the Brethren, East Berlin. Burial was at the convenience of the family in Bermudian Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Rev. Larry Dentler officiated.

Emig Funeral Home, Dover, Pa., was in charge of arrangements.
