Windber 7

Southern Fulton 1

Southern Fulton jumped out to a one-goal lead early on, but Windber would close out last Wednesday’s nonleague match with a decisive 7-1 victory. Jacob Silver had the lone goal for the Indians on an assist by Benji Voight. Goalkeeper Shad Gordon recorded a whopping 23 saves.

Fannett-Metal 4

Forbes Road 2

Fannett- Metal fought back from a two-goal deficit last Tuesday and finished the Sideling Hill League match against Forbes Road with a two-goal advantage. James Kendall scored both goals for the Cardinals. Goalkeeper Macklin Hawkins finished with 10 saves.

James Buchanan 5

McConnellsburg 0

James Buchanan ended a five-game losing streak last Friday, defeating McConnellsburg with five unanswered goals. The Spartans saw their record drop to 5-8- 1 as the non-league loss marked the team’s fourth straight loss.

Rockwood 0

Goalkeeper Sarah Pollock blocked 14 shots on goal last Tuesday for the McConnellsburg Lady Spartans, who inched by Rockwood for a 2- 0 non-league win. In addition, Abby Peck scored both goals for McConnellsburg, who received assists from Jordin Smith and Sam Roberts.

Tussey Mountain 1

McConnellsburg dominated Tussey Mountain last Thursday, downing the Titans by the final score of 7-1. Sam Roberts and Ember Keefer were the lead scorers for the Lady Spartans with two goals apiece. McKenzi Garlock added a goal and an assist, and Leah Mellott and Kimber Messinger both had goals. Jordin Smith wrapped up the Sideling Hill League match with three assists. Goalkeeper Sarah Pollock recorded 13 saves for the win.

Greencastle-Antrim 3

McConnellsburg 0

McConnellsburg lost its very first game of the season Saturday when Greencastle- Antrim pulled away for a 3-0 non-league win. Goalkeeper Sarah Pollock had a big night in goal for the Lady Spartans racking up a total of 13 saves.

Forbes Road 1

Huntingdon 0

A Keystone League match between Forbes Road and Huntingdon was called off eight minutes following the halftime break last Thursday. However, the Lady Cardinals’ lone goal in the opening half was enough to push them ahead of the Bearcats. Brittany Truax scored for the Cardinals on an assist by Malea Truax and Kiersten Cline.

Belleville Mennonite 0

For the fourth time this season, Forbes Road easily dominated rivals from Belleville Mennonite. Last Monday, the Lady Cardinals won the Keystone League match 9-0 with Brittany Truax and Kiersten Cline both having three goals. Cline also had two assists, and teammate Malea Truax had one goal and three assists. Braylin Hohman and McKenzie Gelvin each had a goal, and Shania Gelvin and Morghan Taylor each had an assist.

Hancock 0

Southern Fulton easily swept Hancock, Md., in three straight sets last Thursday to bump its season record to 6-8. Peyton and Cheyenne Koons led the Lady Indians, with Peyton recording 12 service points, two aces and nine assists. Meanwhile, Cheyenne Koons had three kills and 12 service points. Macey Hollenshead tallied three kills, 10 service points and two aces.

Everett 2

McConnellsburg may have gotten off to a slow start last Thursday by dropping the opening two sets to Everett, but the Lady Spartans managed to prevail over the Warriors in a five- set Sideling Hill League match. Jessi Keefer led McConnellsburg with 15 kills, six blocks and three aces, while DeAnne Dickerson tallied 20 digs. Reva Souders and Karlee Swope had 18 and 14 digs, respectively, while Sarah Hollenshead added seven blocks.

Mercersburg Academy 0

McConnellsburg garnered its eighth consecutive win Saturday defeating Mercersburg Academy in three straight sets. Carly Swope rallied for 14 digs and three aces, while fellow Lady Spartan Reva Souders added 11 digs. Jessi Keefer contributed 16 kills, and Kylee Keefer had six kills and 12 assists.

Northern Bedford 0

Southern Fulton halted a three-game losing streak last Tuesday, downing the Northern Bedford Panthers by the score of 3-0. Macey Hollenshead tallied 21 service points, four kills, four digs and six aces for the Lady Indians, who also had 10 assists, 13 service points and three aces from Peyton Koons. Celina Merchant added six kills, and Maggie Deneen contributed five digs during the Sideling Hill League win.

McConnellsburg 3

Chestnut Ridge 0

McConnellsburg inched out Chestnut Ridge in three close sets last Tuesday. During the Lady Spartans 3-0 Sideling Hill League win, Jessi Keefer rallied for nine kills, four blocks and four aces. Sarah Hollenshead added six kills, and Kyle Keefer posted 15 assists. Deanne Dickerson and Carly Swope rounded out the day with 12 digs each.

Meyersdale 3

Southern Fulton 2

Southern Fulton faltered in the fifth set last Monday with Meyersdale coming out on top for the close 3-2 nonleague win. The Lady Indians were led by Macey Hollenshead with nine kills and seven service points, and Celina Merchant had five kills and nine digs. Peyton Koons added 20 assists, 14 service points and three aces. Ashley Roman and Maggie Deneen finished with five blocks and 10 digs, respectively.
