Everhart New Community State CEO

SPECIAL TO THE NEWS

Trudy Everhart Trudy Everhart Community State Bank of Orbisonia’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of its new president and chief executive officer Trudy K. Everhart.

While September 30 was her first day on the job as CEO, it was far from her first day at the bank. Everhart started working at Community State Bank as a capstone student in 1980 while a senior at Southern Huntingdon County High School. The program required her to carry a full business curriculum in school while working part-time at the bank. During her 33 years with Community State Bank she has worked as a clerk, bookkeeper, teller, customer service representative, cashier, human-resources manager and most recently as the chief operating officer and senior vice president. Her experience through the years has exposed her to a variety of management styles and provided her with the knowledge and experience needed to carry on the values and traditions of Community State Bank.

In addition to graduating from Southern Huntingdon, Everhart is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Banker’s Association’s Central Atlantic Schools of Banking and Advanced School of Banking in partnership with Dickinson College along with several other banking classes.

“I’m not your typical CEO,” said Everhart. Her banking knowledge and experience comes from years of hands-on experience within the bank. As CEO, Everhart hopes to repay the bank for the opportunities it has provided her.

As president and CEO Everhart will ultimately be responsible for the successful operation of Community State Bank and Orbisonia

Community Bancorp. Everhart said she feels a range of emotions now that she is heading the organization she has been a member of for most of her life. “I’m nervous, but I have a wonderful staff. I couldn’t ask for better employees who are working with me.” She gives credit to her recently retired boss of 22 years, Paul Yohn, for the training and knowledge he provided. While Yohn officially handed over the reins when he retired on September 27, he had been training Everhart for the president’s position since April 2012.

She resides in Three Springs with her husband, Denny. They have three children and two grandchildren. She and her family attend the First Baptist Church of Three Springs. She is presently a board member of the Pennsylvania Community Bankers Association.

Community State Bank of Orbisonia is an independent community bank headquartered in Huntingdon County.
