Bicyclist Hits Man Marching In Pittsburgh Parade
PITTSBURGH (AP) – Police say a bicyclist ignored barricades set up for Pittsburgh’s Columbus Day Parade and struck a man who was marching.
Police say 56-year- old Giovanni Cimino was knocked to the ground Saturday while he was handing out fliers to parade watchers and was briefly unconscious. He was taken to the hospital with a head injury.
His wife, Karen Cimino, tells the Pittsburgh Tribune- Review that her husband was being kept at the hospital overnight so doctors could perform tests. She says he was confused and needed stitches.
Police say the cyclist faces charges.
