Forbes Road finally secured its very first win of the season Saturday when the Cardinals defeated Carson Long with seven unanswered goals. Garrett Bard led the Cardinal offensive effort with three goals, and Dylan DeShong, James Kendall, Aaron Schepis and Cordell Strait each connected for a goal. Those having assists were Schepis (2), Kendall, Strait and Tyson Berkstresser. Goalie Macklin Hawkins had two saves.

Even though McCon-

McConnellsburg may have led last Friday’s statistics, Southern Fulton ended up on top for a 1-0 Sideling Hill League victory. Josh Hill scored the Indians only goal on an assist by Dakota Jones. Goalkeeper Shad Gordon tallied 20 saves for Southern Fulton, while Mc- Connellsburg goalie Hunter Souders had eight saves.

Belleville Mennonite 3

Forbes Road 2

Belleville Mennonite garnered a one-goal lead going into the second half last Friday and held on for a 3-2 non-league win over Forbes Road. Aaron Schepis and Caleb McGowan both had goals for the Cardinals, who received assists from James Kendall and J.J. Martz.

Fannett-Metal 3

McConnellsburg 0

Fannett-Metal extended a one-goal lead last Wednesday with two additional, unanswered goals in the second half for a 3-0 Sideling Hill League win over Mc- Connellsburg. Spartan goalie Nick Daniels closed out the loss with seven saves in goal.

Southern Fulton 2

Forbes Road 1

A scoreless game was broken wide open following the halftime break last Wednesday when the Southern Fulton Indians inched ahead for a 2-1 win over Forbes Road. Josh Hill and Jacob Silver both had goals for the victorious Indians, who also received an assist from Benji Voight. Shad Gordon racked up 15 saves for Southern Fulton, while Forbes Road goalkeeper Macklin Hawkins tallied 10 saves. Forbes Road’s lone goal was by Garrett Bard.

Chestnut Ridge 3

McConnellsburg 0

Chestnut Ridge blanked the McConnellsburg Spartans last Monday with three unanswered goals. Goalkeeper Nick Daniels totalled 13 saves for the Spartans during the Sideling Hill League game.

Northern Bedford 2

Southern Fulton 0

Southern Fulton managed 28 shots but none of them found their way into the back of the net last Monday during a 2- 0 loss to Northern Bedford. Shad Gordon had 14 saves for the Indians during the Sideling Hill League match.

McConnellsburg 6

Everett 0

McConnellsburg scored four goals in the opening half of last Thursday’s match and dumped in an extra two following the halftime break for a 6-0 Sideling Hill League win over Everett. Sam Roberts connected for two goals and one assist, and both Haley Garlock and Brittany Parson had a goal and an assist. Teammates Jordin Smith and Abby Peck also contributed goals. Goalkeeper Sarah Pollock made four saves for the shutout.

McConnellsburg 0

After playing 80 minutes, coaches from James Buchanan and McConnellsburg opted to end last Tuesday’s non-league match in a tie instead of pushing the game into overtime. Sarrah Pollock recorded 13 saves in goal for the Lady Spartans.

McConnellsburg’s season record increased to a perfect 10-0 last Monday with a decisive 9-0 victory over Johnstown Christian. Sam Roberts tallied four goals, while Abby Peck added three goals and an assist. McKenzi Garlock and Kimber Messinger both had a goal, and assists were recorded by Jordin Smith (2), Savannah Kerlin, Haley Garlock, Leah Mellott and Ember Keefer.

Southern Fulton 39

Three members of the Southern Fulton boys crosscountry team placed in the top-10 finishers last Thursday against James Buchanan. Jacob Pryor was third overall with his time of 20:04, while Indian teammate Benjy Voight was fourth. Nathan Leedy earned a ninth-place finish with an overall time of 20:59.

Juniata Valley 44

Six out of the top-10 runners to cross the finish line Tuesday evening were from Southern Fulton to earn the Indians a pair of wins over Bellwood-Antis and Juniata Valley. Jacob Pryor was the Indians lead runner during the tri-meet, capturing second place with his time of 18:36, while Benji Voight was third with his time of 18:39. Nathan Leedy had another strong appearance with his time of 20:03, which garnered him a sixth-place finish. Casey Elbin, Jacob Dudich and Sterling Bard finished in seventh through ninthplace, respectively.

The Southern Fulton Indians managed four runners in the top-10 slots last Thursday during a loss to the James Buchanan Rockets. Olivia Mottern was third overall for the Lady Indians with a recorded time of 24:36, while Madison Baker earned a fifth-place finish with her time of 26:02. A time of 26:57 posted by Emma Williams gave the Indians the seventh place finish as well as a ninth-place win by Lindsay Pryor.

Juniata Valley 31

The Southern Fulton Lady Indians split a tri-meet last Tuesday, falling to Bellwood Antis but pulling away for a close victory over Juniata Valley. Olivia Mottern was fourth overall out of the top-10 runners with her recorded time of 23:51, and Madison Baker followed with a fifth-place finish with a time of 24: 58. Emma Williams and Linsey Pryor finished in seventh and ninth place.

Forbes Road managed a fourth straight shutout last Thursday with a decisive 9- 0 Keystone League victory over Belleville Mennonite. Malea Truax had four goals, while Brittany Truax recorded three goals. Kiersten Cline had a goal and two assists as did teammate Shania Gelvin. Kristina Parsons also dished out two assists, and Braylin Hohman, Mina Wilt, Mor-ghan Taylor and Maiah Mellott all had assists.

Brittany Truax tallied three goals for the Forbes Road Lady Cardinals, who downed the Huntingdon Bearcats last Tuesday by the final score of 4-0. Kiersten Cline chipped in a goal and three assists, and both Shania Gelvin and Morghan Taylor had a goal.

Forbes Road pulled off a nail-bitter against Shippensburg last Monday scoring one, unanswered goal in the second half of the nonleague match. Malea Truax scored the Lady Cardinals’ lone goal on an assist by Kiersten Cline. Olivia Hall, goalkeeper, racked up six saves in goals for Forbes Road.

McConnellsburg picked up its fifth consecutive victory last Thursday with a 3-0 Sideling Hill League win over Fannett-Metal. Jessi Keefer garnered 13 kills and two blocks to lead the Lady Spartans, who also received 22 assists and 12 digs from Kylie Keefer. Carly Swope added 13 digs, and Deanne Dickerson had two aces.

Peyton Koons had eight assists, four service points and two aces for the Southern Fulton Indians, who fell to Chestnut Ridge in three straight sets last Thursday. Teammate Ashley Roman added three kills and five blocks, while Maggie Deneen added 10 digs. Macey Hollenshead had five service points and two aces.

McConnellsburg picked up its fourth consecutive win last Tuesday, defeating the Southern Fulton Lady Indians for a 3-0 Sideling Hill League win. Lady Spartan Reva Souders totalled 10 digs and three aces, while Carly Swope added nine digs. Jessi Keefer had 10 kills, and Gabby Danner handed out 24 assists.

For the Lady Indians, Macey Hollenshead had 13 service points and three aces, while Kylie Covalt also chipped in three aces. Ashley Roman and Peyton Koons had five kills and 11 assists, respectively, and Celina Merchant and Maggie Deneen finished with six kills and 17 digs.

The McConnellsburg Lady Spartans played some tough defense last Monday and rolled to a 3-0 non-league win over the James Buchanan Rockets. Jessie Keefer rallied for nine kills and five blocks, and Gabby Danner chipped in 20 assists. Kylie Keefer and Becca Green totalled 16 and 15 digs, respectively, while Karly Swope had five aces.

Peyton Koons led the Southern Fulton Lady Indians, who defeated Hancock, Md., last Monday by the final score of 3-0. Koons recorded 13 assists, 13 service points and three aces for Southern Fulton, who also received five kills each from teammates Shaye Smartt and Macey Hollenshead. Kylie Covalt added seven service points and two aces.
