Gail G. Cook Three Springs, 85

Gail G. Cook, 85, Three Springs, died at 11:15 p.m., Monday, October 7, 2013, at his home in Taylor Township, Fulton County.

Born April 22, 1928, in Taylor Township, he was the son of the late Mary R.J. Cook. He was reared by his late grandparents, Gilbert Jasper Cook and Arminda (Madden) Cook. He was married to Lillie Cutchall on October 14, 1946. She survives at their home.

He is survived by a son, Gary Cook, and wife Debra, Three Springs; and a daughter, Debbie Cook Nye, Mechanicsburg; two grandchildren: Jeremy Cook, Three Springs, and Justin Treher, New Cumberland, Pa.; and three great-grandchildren: Scarlett, Wolfgang and Atticus Treher.

Five aunts and two uncles, with whom he was raised, preceded him in death.

A retired sign foreman for PennDOT, he had previously worked at Union Equipment Co. and H.B. Mellott Estate, both of Warfordsburg. In his early years he had worked at the brickyards in Mount Union. Most of his life he was a farmer and he worked at blacktop sealing.

He was caring and concerned for his family and presented a “happy smile.” He enjoyed farming, trucks, equipment, auctions and especially baling hay. He also enjoyed festivals and eating ice cream.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2013, at the M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. Rev. David Pine will officiate. Interment will be at Center Cemetery, Waterfall. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, October 10, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
