October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Preceptor Gamma Pi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi is once again sponsoring this awareness month by collecting nonpersishable food items and paper products for the Women in Need (WIN) shelter that serves Franklin and Fulton County families.

Last year the shelter was used as a safe haven for 1,700 women and children from the two counties.

In Fulton County, in the last three months, there were more than 100 recipients of WIN services.

Some of the collection sites include: Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church, Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore Bible Church, Bedford Chapel, St. Stephen Catholic Church, Ebnezer Methodist Church, Damascus Church, Orbisonia Community Bank – Waterfall, and Fulton County Medical Center. The campaign runs through October 31, 2013.

The community’s help in this endeavor would be greatly appreciated. For more information contact Carol J. Johnson 717-294- 3503, Amy Hill 717-573- 4599 or Judy Eisaman 717-485-4201. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Please send check payable to WIN to 11883 Sipes Mill Road, Harrisonville, PA 17228.

All monetary donations will be given to the new shelter for WIN.
