Northern Bedford 2

McConnellsburg broke open last Thursday’s game against Northern Bedford in overtime on a well-timed goal by Cody Parsons. During the 3-2 Sideling Hill League win, Spartan teammates Beau Wilson and Colton Strait each added goals. Goalie Nick Daniels rounded out the day with a whopping 22 saves.

Forbes Road 2

Patrick Keefer struck for two goals last Monday evening, leading the Mc- Connellsburg Spartans during a 4-2 Sideling Hill victory over Forbes Road. Teammates Tyrelle White and Zac Williams each added a goal for McConnellsburg, who received two assists from Colton Strait. Goalie Nick Daniels racked up seven saves during the league matchup.

For Forbes Road, teammates Weylin Mitchell and Aaron Schepis each had a goal, while Joel Neville racked up an assist. Goalkeeper Macklin Hawkins had eight saves.

Fannett-Metal 4

Southern Fulton 1

Fannett-Metal picked up its third-straight victory last Monday evening, downing the Southern Fulton Indians 4-1. Dristin Mellott had the Indians’ only goal on an assist from Jacob Silver. Goalies Tim Mottern and Shad Gordon posted 10 and 12 saves respectively.

Northern Bedford 1

Tied going into the halftime break, McConnellsburg had a strong second half last Thursday, downing Northern Bedford 4- 1. Sam Roberts had two assists and two goals for the Lady Spartans, who also received goals from Abby Peck and Leah Mellott. McKenzi Garlock added an assist. Sarrah Pollock, goalie, tallied seven saves during the Sideling Hill League win.

Meyersdale 0

The McConnellsburg Lady Spartans winning record extended to 8-0 last Monday evening with a 4-0 non-league victory over Meyersdale. Abby Peck led the Spartans with two goals, and Sam Roberts had both a goal and two assists. Hannah McGarvey finished out the match with a goal, and McKenzi Garlock had an assist.

Belleville Mennonite 0

Forbes Road had seven different players find the back of the goal cage last Thursday when the Lady Cardinals ran away for a 9-0 Keystone League win over Belleville Mennonite. Teammates Brittany Truax and Lillie Wilt both scored two goals, while Malea Truax, Shania Gelvin, Kiersten Cline, Maiah Mellott and Kristina Parsons had one goal apiece. Those adding assists were M. Truax (3), Cline (3), Gelvin (2), Morghan Taylor (2) and Mina Wilt.

Southern Huntingdon 1

Southern Huntingdon may have scored the first goal of last Tuesday’s Keystone League match, but it was the Forbes Road Cardinals who struck time and time again for a 9-1 win. Kiersten Cline led the offensive effort with three goals and an assist, while Shania Gelvin added on two goals. Malea Truax had a goal and three assists, and Brittany Truax, McKenzie Gelvin and Cora Wilt each had a goal. Lara Cromer added two assists, and Braylin Hohman dished out one assist.

James Buchanan 21

Southern Fulton 39

Three members of the Southern Fulton boys crosscountry team placed in the top-10 finishers last Thursday against James Buchanan. Jacob Pryor was third overall with his time of 20:04, while Indian teammate Benjy Voight was fourth. Nathan Leedy earned a ninth-place finish with an overall time of 20:59.

Southern Fulton 37

The Southern Fulton Indians managed four runners in the top-10 slots last Thursday during a loss to the James Buchanan Rockets. Olivia Mottern was third overall for the Lady Indians with a recorded time of 24:36, while Madison Baker earned a fifth-place finish with her time of 26:02. A time of 26:57 posted by Emma Williams gave the Indians the seventh-place finish as well as a ninth-place win by Lindsay Pryor.

Places Seventh

The Southern Fulton Lady Indians garnered a seventh place finish over the weekend when they travelled to Windber Saturday for a tournament. In pool play, Southern Fulton lost to Blairsville and Windber while defeating Glenndale. During the playoff round, the Indians lost to Forest Hills. Team leaders included Macey Hollenshead with 12 kills, 19 service points, three aces and three blocks. Kylie Covalt added five kills, three blocks, eight points and four aces, while Celina Merchant chipped in three kills, eight points and three aces. Ashley Roman finished out the tourney with eight kills and three blocks.

Southern Fulton’s threegame losing streak came to a halt last Tuesday evening when the Lady Indians dominated Fannett-Metal for a 3-0 Sideling Hill League win. Celena Merchant led her teammates with nine kills, while Peyton Koons had 11 assists and nine service points. Kylie Covalt added 12 service points and two aces, while Shaye Smartt rallied for 11 points and six aces.

Tussey Mountain 0

McConnellsburg and Tussey Mountain battled it out in three closely matched sets, but it was the Titans who prevailed by the final score of 3-0 last Tuesday. Jessi Keefer had a big day for the Lady Spartans with 11 kills, six blocks and four aces. Carly Swope added 13 digs, while Gabby Danner chipped in 21 assists and four aces.

Shalom Christian 3

McConnellsburg 1

Shalom Christian halted a two-game losing streak Monday night defeating the McConnellsburg Lady Spartans 3-1 in non-league action. Jessi Keefer tallied 10 kills and 10 blocks, and Gabby Danner chimed in with 20 assists and two aces. Carly Swope finished with 13 digs, and Reva Souders had 12 digs and two aces.
