Myron E. Harr Hagerstown, 73

Myron Elwood “Short” Harr, 73, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at his home.

Born Sunday, February 18, 1940, at his parents’ home in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., he was the son of the late Ernest Grant Harr and the late Virginia Maye Crouse Harr.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Mervin E. Harr and Mark E. Harr.

He was employed at Martin Marietta in Boonsboro for 45 years as a heavy equipment operator and blaster. He retired in 2002.

He attended Ringgold Church of Christ and was a member of Longmeadow Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elaine Aukrom Harr, whom he married on June 5, 1960; daughter Lori Harr Routzahn and husband Tom of Clear Spring; three grandchildren: Andrew and wife Alexandra Routzahn, Joshua Routzahn and girlfriend Jennifer Manuel and Rachel Rout-zahn, all of Clear Spring; three sisters: Mary Clever, Martha Harr and Marie Stine and husband Larry; six brothers: Melvin “Bill” Harr, Merrill “Tim” Harr and wife, Jackie, Morrow “Mike” Harr and wife Linda, Max Harr and wife Robin, Marlin “Sonny” Harr and wife Nancy, and Marvin “Bus” Harr; sister-inlaw Beulah Harr; special-inlaw Dortha Routzahn (Tom’s mother) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were held Friday, September 27, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Pastor Don Conley officiated. Interment was at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
