Frances Olivia Reeder, 95, Burnt Cabins, died September 7, 2013, at Wilson Health Care Center, Gaithersburg, Md.
She was the daughter of Clifton V. and Alice Welch Reeder.
Surviving are a sister, Catherine Winifred Newman, Waterfall; a nephew, Brian Newman, Davenport, Iowa; nieces: Janice Search, Upton, Mass. and Dawn Heefner, Wayne, Pa.; great-nieces: Michelle Search, Elizabeth Newman, Sarah Newman and Rachel Wall; great-greatnephews: Alex Winters, William Brian Snook and Hunter Wall.
She attended Hustontown High School and was a graduate of Gallinger School of Nursing, Washington, D.C.
She served in the United States Army from August 1, 1942, to December 29, 1945, in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign as a first lieutenant.
She was employed at the Walter Reed Hospital blood bank from 1945 to 1979.
She lived at Grosvenor Place, Rockville, Md., prior to moving to Asbury Methodist Village, Gaithersburg, Md., in 2006.
She was a member of Woodside Methodist Church.
Her hobbies included travel, swimming, reading, antiques and entertaining.
Memorial services were held at Hustontown on September 9. Contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Our Military Kids.
