Hiller Wins Photo Contest


Lydia Hiller’s photo “The Lonely Tree.” Lydia Hiller’s photo “The Lonely Tree.” Eleven-year-old Lydia Hiller of War fordsburg received the grand prize of $100 in the eighth annual Hancock Area Photo Contest for her photo titled “The Lonely Tree.” Amy Smith, also of Warfordsburg, won a $25 prize in the people category for her photo “Mischievous.” The contest is sponsored by Hancock Area Photo Club, Hancock Rotary Club and Hancock War Memorial Library. The award was presented by Sam Judge of Warfordsburg, at Hancock War Memorial Library September 28. Fulton County residents recognized for submitting photos that received honorable mentions were: Allison Grimmett, 14, for two entries – “Monumental Love” and “Paradise,” and Amy Smith for a photo of sunflowers called “Sunny Days.” The 12 best photos selected by the judges, which includes Tina Crawford of Fulton County, will be on display at HancockLibrary through the end of 2013.
