Valeria M. Kave Williamsport, Md., 52

Mrs. Valeria Maye (Appleby) Kave, 52, Williamsport, Md., died Sunday, September 22, 2013, in her home following a sevenyear battle with cancer.

Born September 10, 1961, in McConnellsburg, she was the daughter of Donald L. and Betty L. (Strait) Appleby of Greencastle.

She was a graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School with the Class of 1979.

She and her husband of 14 years, Edward L. Kave, were married September 19, 1999, in Las Vegas, Nev. They had lived at their present residence since 2002.

She was employed at Gibbles Restaurant, Greencastle; Landstar Trucking, Maugansville, Md.; Red Lobster in Chambersburg; and Hagerstown; and Tony’s Pizza of Williamsport. She was last employed at Third Base Tavern, Williamsport.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a son, William “Doug” Watson, and his wife, Megan, of Odenton, Md.; a brother, Doug Appleby, and his wife, Candy, of Greencastle; four nieces: Tia Rohrer, Sabrina Rohrer, Hillary Bohrer and her husband, Kevin, and Autumn Appleby; and a number of aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Earl and Iva (Decker) Strait; and paternal grandparents, Clarence and Vera (Locke) Appleby.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2013, in Miller- Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 South Washington Street, Greencastle, with the Revs. Richard Snyder and Terry Appleby officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Williamsport.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, in the funeral home.
