Corbett Aides, Feds Meet On Pa.’s Medicaid Plan
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – Top aides to Gov. Tom Corbett were in Baltimore meeting with officials from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on his Medicaid plan.
An administration spokeswoman said the Monday meeting was still ongoing around noon and no information had come out of it. It’s the first meeting with federal officials since Corbett released his plan to use federal Medicaid expansion dollars to cover hundreds of thousands of uninsured adults.
Lengthy negotiations could be required since Corbett is seeking changes to the Medicaid expansion envisioned President Barack Obama’s signature health care law.
Administration officials say they believe their proposals are grounded in good policy and should be approved quickly. They say they are unable to say immediately how much it would cost the state.
