County Razes Courthouse Annex #1

TMS Excavating LLC demolishes Courthouse Annex #1 building Monday as part of the county’s ongoing renovations. The two-story brick building was originally the home of S.W. Kirk and was purchased by the county around 1960. Most recently, the building housed the office and staff of Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott and in years prior the satellite office of Sen. Robert Jubelirer, the county assessment office and the Penn State Cooperative Extension Office. According to the commissioners, their plans for the site include additional parking spaces and repaving the entire existing parking lot.
