Mercersburg Poet To Open Wilson College Writers Series

Poet Melanie Faith will open the annual Writers Series at Wilson College on Thursday, Oct. 24, with a reading from her new poetry chapbook, “Catching the Send-off Train.” The reading will begin at 7 p.m. in Laird Hall’s Patterson Lounge and is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Faith, of Mercersburg, is a 1999 graduate of Wilson College. She is an English tutor and online creative writing instructor whose writing has been nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize, an American literary prize that honors the best poetry, short fiction and essays published by the small presses in the previous year. The event, which is hosted by the Wilson College Department of English and Communications, will continue throughout the 2013- 14 academic year.
