The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of State Parks, and Cowans Gap State Park would like to announce the following upcoming public programs:
Saturday, September 28: National Public Lands Day – 9 a.m. to noon – National Public Lands Day Volunteer Work Day. Join the 1,000s of people across the country that are out helping to take care of our public lands on this special day. Projects at the park may include trail maintenance, litter cleanup, painting, gardening, light construction and other projects. A great opportunity to get a group together or just come out yourself to help keep our park beautiful. Pre-registration is required by contacting the park office at 717- 485-3948. Lunch will be provided after the work day at noon.
Sunday, September 29: 3 p.m. – GPS Scavenger Hunt. Join the naturalist at the amphitheater to discover the high tech fun of geocaching! We will learn to use GPS units to find hidden treasure in the park. Borrow one of the units or bring your own.
