Hyndman 2

Forbes Road 1

Forbes Road came onto the field to score the first goal last Friday, but Hyndman finished the game on top for a 2-1 non-league win. Caleb McGowan had the Cardinals’ only goal on an assist by James Kendall. Macklin Hawkins had a huge game in goal for Forbes Road totalling 22 saves.

Bishop Walsh 4

Southern Fulton 1

Bishop Walsh prevailed Saturday with two goals in each period against Southern Fulton and ended the non-league match by the final score of 4-1. Josh Hill scored the Indians’ only goal on an assist by Benji Voight. Goalkeeper Shad Gordon ended the game with 14 saves in goal.

Forbes Road’s season opener fell into overtime last Wednesday when the Everett Warriors pulled away for a 2-1 Sideling Hill League win. Weylin Mitchell had the Cardinals’ lone goal on an assist by James Kendall. Goalkeeper Macklin Hawkins totalled seven saves during the match.

Northern Bedford 5

Southern Fulton 1

Southern Fulton came out hot but it was Northern Bedford who prevailed last Wednesday winning the Sideling Hill League game by the final score of 5-1. Josh Hill scored the Indians only goal on an assist by Tim Mottern. Goalkeeper Shad Gordon had a big day with 13 saves in goal.

Chestnut Ridge 1

McConnellsburg 0

The Chestnut Ridge Lions scored on a penalty kick, which would be the only goal of the game during last Wednesday’s match- up against Mc- Connellsburg. Spartan goalie Nick Daniels closed out the Sideling Hill League game with 10 saves.

Windber 0

A close game was broken open following the halftime break last Thursday when McConnellsburg pulled away for a 5-0 non-league win over Windber. Abby Peck and Brittany Parson both scored two goals, and Jordin Smith added a goal as well. Those lending assists during the match were Parson, Smith and Sam Roberts. Sarrah Pollock led the defensive effort with five saves in goal for the Lady Spartans.

McConnellsburg 2

St. Maria Goretti 0

St. Maria Goretti played some tough defense last Tuesday evening, but the McConnellsburg Lady Spartans’ diligence paid off when they racked up two unanswered goals late in the nonleague game. McKenzi Garlock and Alexis Mellott both racked up goals for the Lady Spartans, who received two assists from Sam Roberts. Goalkeeper Sarah Pollock preserved the shutout with seven saves.

Huntingdon 0

Four Forbes Road Lady Cardinals found the back of the goal cage last Thursday for a 5-0 Keystone League sweep of the Huntingdon Bearcats. Brittany Truax connected for two goals, and teammates Morghan Taylor, Malea Truax and Kiersten Cline had one goal apiece. Cline also had two assists as did Shania Gelvin. Malea Truax and Lara Cromer each dished out an assist as well.

Bishop McDevitt 0

Bishop McDevitt couldn’t stop the Forbes Road Lady Cardinals’ offensive effort Saturday during the opening round of the Big Spring Tournament. Winning the match with seven unanswered goals, Kiersten Cline racked up three goals for the Cardinals. Shania Gelvin, Brittany Truax, Malea Truax and Lara Cromer each added a goal, and those adding assists were Gelvin (3), Cline, Cromer and Kristina Parsons.

Big Spring 0

Forbes Road blasted the host of the Big Spring Tournament Saturday, taking home the gold and firstplace finish in the championship round by the final score of 5-0. Kiersten Cline and Brittany Truax both totalled two goals, and Malea Truax added the Cardinals’ final goal. Cline added two assists, and Malea Truax and Shania Gelvin both had assists.

Greencastle-Antrim 2

Forbes Road racked up three goals in the opening half last Tuesday and held on for a narrow 3-2 win over Greencastle-Antrim. Brittany Truax led the Lady Cardinals with two goals, and teammate Malea Truax added one. Shania Gelvin finished out the non-league game with two assists, and goalkeeper Olivia Hall tallied three saves.

Southern Fulton Lady Indians cross-country squad had a big season opener last Wednesday, sweeping teams from Bedford, Windber and Bishop Guilfoyle. Macey Hollenshead was the top finisher for the Lady Indians, placing third overall with a time of 24:10. Meanwhile, Shaelyn Wawro was sixth with her time of 27:43. Teammates Celina Merchant and Madison Baker rounded out the day in seventh and eighth-place, respectively, and Olivia Mottern was ninth overall.

McConnellsburg clinched three straight sets last Thursday downing the Fannett-Metal Tigers for the Sideling Hill League win. Jessi Keefer rallied for 18 kills and two blocks, and Gabby Danner added 23 assists and seven aces. Kylie Keefer and Deanne Dickerson closed out the match with seven digs and six aces, respectively.

Southern Fulton made significant progress with each passing set last Thursday, but it was Chestnut Ridge who finished out the Sideling Hill League match with a 3-0 win. The Lady Indians received six assists, seven service points and two aces from Peyton Koons as well as five kills, four blocks and 16 digs from teammate Celina Merchant.

Southern Fulton crosscountry team overcame competitors from Bishop Carroll and Bishop Guilfoyle last Wednesday while dropping a season-opening meet. Jacob Pryor was the lone Indian to place in the top-10 finishers. Pryor was fifth overall with a finish time of 19:52.

McConnellsburg clinched three straight sets last Thursday downing the Fannett Metal Tigers for the Sideling Hill League win. Jessi Keefer led the Lady Spartans with a whopping 16 kills, four blocks and three aces. Kylie Keefer chipped in 19 digs, and Gabby Danner added 13 digs and 28 assists.

Southern Fulton opened its season last Tuesday evening with a 3- 0 nonleague sweep of Bishop Walsh. Macey Hollenshead led her Lady Indian teammates with six kills, and two blocks, while Peyton Koons dished out six assists. Shaye Smartt rounded out the match with three digs and 10 service points, and Maggie Deneen tallied 18 service points.

FCCCS 3 Highland View Academy 0

Fulton County Community Christian School swept Highland View Academy in three straight sets last Tuesday afternoon with Hannah Beddow leading the way. Beddow tallied 26 points and 15 aces for the Lady Chargers. Teammate Sarah Gingerich chipped in four points, four assists and four kills.

FCCCS 3 Carlisle Christian Academy 1

Fulton County Community Christian School prevailed Monday evening in a 3-1 outing against Carlisle Christian Academy. Hannah Beddow led the Chargers’ efforts with 21 points, 10 aces, 10 digs and seven assists. Jenae Gordon added 19 points, eight aces, 10 digs and three kills. Meanwhile, Sarah Gingerich chipped in seven kills and nine assists, while Rachel Weibley had eight kills. Bethany Beddow finished out the match with six service points and seven digs.
