Robert H. Johnson Wells Tannery, 65

Robert H. Johnson, 65, Wells Tannery, died at 9:10 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, Pa.

Born April 2, 1948, in Wells Tannery, he was the son of Harry K. Johnson, Wells Tannery, and the late Wilma L. Swope Johnson. He was married to Wanda J. Gowin on March 29, 1995. Mrs. Johnson survives at home.

A son, Kenneth R. Johnson, and a sister, Nancy L. Horne, are deceased.

Three stepchildren survive: Jessica Marsh and husband Eric, Everett, Pa.; Joseph Means and wife Amanda, Everett, Pa.; and Jennifer Miller and husband Danny, Hagerstown, Md.; eight grandchildren; an uncle, Richard Johnson, Wells Tannery; a nephew, Devin Horne, Hustontown; and nieces: Heidi Roude and Heather Horne-Perozo, both of Florida, and their families, along with many special friends and neighbors.

He was a member of the New Grenada Church of God, Waterfall, Pa.

A supervisor with 35 years service, he was retired from New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. In earlier years, he had worked at Stoudnour Chevrolet, Saxton.

He was a member of Forbes Road Lions Club, Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co., and served as president of Wells Valley Presbyterian Cemetery. He also volunteered and served as an officer with the Wells Tannery Community Park. A member of Everett Lodge #524, Free and Accepted Masons, he also belonged to Harrisburg Consistory and Jaffa Shrine, Altoona, Pa.

Graveside memorial services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Wells Valley Presbyterian Cemetery, Wells Tannery. Rev. Kenneth Cornelius officiated.
